has anyone seen the 2.5 minute 'attack of the clones' trailer?
the general one with the insane battle sequences (minus the lovey-dove-romping-in-the-fields-with-natalie-portman shit of the earlier ones)??

the specific ones are the shit as well (occupation: bounty hunger, baaaaaaaad-ass! ;))

OH MY.

i hated episode I, absolute ass except for the last 20 minutes...

but this.........THIS!

is anyone looking forward to the new movie?

Where's the great Hollywood HYPE machine for this? I'm shocked with less than a month to go that we haven't been inundated with marketing hype. I'm wondering if George Lucas thinks that with the flop of the first one, the 2nd may not do so well so cut back on the pre-release marketing?

*c*

Im hoping it will be good, but now that Im older - Ive realised that George Lucas may have had a good imagination 20 odd years ago, but now he sucks.
I hope he pulls something dope off with Episode II - but what Ive read so far seems a little shifty.
I think that the LOTR movies will push Star Wars off - just because the prequels have been sucking so badly. Peter Jackson for Star Wars 3???

there not as much hype because lucas is smart. the first was so hyped up and people hated it because they were expecting to see the movie to end all movies, when it really was just a cgi jerk off movie!

what the fuck is with young bobba fett son of jango fett helping his father on bounyt hunter missions.

uhhhh so was the bobba fett origin story told in the comics and novels just disinformation? bobba fett is supposed to be over 200 years old and does not remember his childhood or even for sure where he is from.

if they sissy up the fett i'm gonna be PISSSSSSSSSSSED

"shit hutt, you're sending the fett? why didn't you say so?" - samuel l windu ;)

well, after the episode 1 came out, i thought for sure that the second one would be wicked (very dark, very sinister, like empire, which was pure evil compared to the original star wars with all its 'may the force be with you' cheese in it)...

by making the first one cushy, it makes the second one look even darker...

as for the lack of media hype...
well, it could be confidence in the movie, that everyone whos not a serious fan is expecting it to be complete shit, hardly even knowing its coming out because they don't give a shit after the flop of the first prequel. meaning that the hype will have to be generated by those who have seen the movie, word of mouth (and then bombard the public with the toys and happy meals)...

rosey - the fetts will most certainly not be sissies. don't you visit the fanboy sites?

kickit - lucas is using 1/3 of the pre-launch budget that he used for episode 1.

all of the reviews (from script reviews to the limited number of people who have actually seen the movie) have been EXCELLENT so far.

lotr is definatly the new star wars trilogy because of how refreshing it is (like the original star wars was).

yeah, empire and jedi were directed by other people, so why not the new ones?

lucas articulated his political message in time magazine. in a nutshell, the message is that democracy untended leads to dictatorship:

"'All democracies turn into dictatorships-but not by coup. The people give their democracy to a dictator, whether it's Julius Caesar or Napoleon or Adolf Hitler. Ultimately, the general population goes along with the idea ... What kinds of things push people and institutions into this direction?'

"In Clones, Lucas goes a way toward answering that question. 'That's the issue that I've been exploring: How did the Republic turn into the Empire? That's paralleled with: How did Anakin turn into Darth Vader? How does a good person go bad, and how does a democracy become a dictatorship? It isn't that the Empire conquered the Republic, it's that the Empire is the Republic.' Lucas' comments clarify the connection between the Anakin trilogy and the Luke trilogy: that the Empire was created out of the corruption of the Republic, and that somebody had to fight it. 'One day Princess Leia and her friends woke up and said, 'This isn't the Republic anymore, it's the Empire. We are the bad guys. Well, we don't agree with this. This democracy is a sham, it's all wrong.'"

I've flipped throught the graphic novel for AOTC and I like what I see. The climactic light sabre duel alone is going to be worth my money.

Episode one made over $1 billion worldwide. If that's a "flop", I wonder what you'd consider a success.

You can visit the star wars episode II website and view all 5 trailers.

I can't wait for this.
It looks like the best one yet! Although I've been a die hard Return of The Jedi fan for my whole life!
