yeah? the new Umek-Consumer Recreation has a nice 20 second 'build' in it that blows the clubs up... but uh, when i think of epic i think of warm, fuzzy melodies. Either way check out Joel Mull-Sun Set.

you'd probably want tech trance
or if your looking for hard tracks with a tech sound and anthems/melodies you'd probably like goa, or psychadelic tech trance (whatever it's called)
i hear alot of the new goa is stompy, dark and uplifting
check out dj's like android or anyone at a blacklight activist or resonance party.

I recommend Peter Benisch's cd: Soundtrack Saga.
Some of the tracks are beautiful!
From what I have heard on this album it is melodic, and mellow, and it takes you on a journey... IMO the title is appropriate for the album.
Here's a part of Benisch's bio:
Sweden's newest star. Peter Benisch has been making music since the age of nine, attending some of the most prestigious classical music schools in Scandinavia. It was during his studies that he began experimenting with electronic music, at the age of only 16, Peter purchased his first sampler & immediately started producing tracks with schoolmates Joel Mull & Adam Beyer. In 1993 they met Jesper Dahlback & formed the now legendary Globe Studios in Stockholm. Eight Years later the studio is still there, & they've produced countless hits under several monikers, and the four have now become legends in the techno industry, but Peter has never really been in the spotlight, until now.

To give you all an example, I have a comp titled "Phuture Tech Trance" mixed by the one and only Oliver Lieb. It's most def a techno mix, but there is a very lush atmosphere to the mix, and it makes the tracks sound epic.

i actually have that oliver lieb cd as well, its a double cd right?
I saw that there were some good hard tracks listed on it, but after listening to it through fully, i realized that i hate techno mixed with trance, it kinda makes me frustrated. once i hear techno, thats all i want to hear.
