Elisa Lam WTF?

So this Canadian girl goes missing in California and aside from a podcast I listen to I have heard nothing in the media about her death. Her body was found in a water tank and discovered by an employee, they think she died elsewhere and now this video has surfaced showing her acting strange while trying to use an elevator.

here's the link with a video
Love in an elevator?

There has been lots in the media for a bit now. Such a strange story. I hope the can figure our what really happened.

I had the seen the video a while back and I remembered it being her hiding in the elevator in fear, scared of what's out in the halls. But watching it again, and seeing her pressing all of the buttons and just acting strange, it really makes the story that much more confusing.

I really hope they solve this case and toxicology reports show what was in her system.

This story did get a ton of media attention. It was on the front page of CNN.com for quite some time too.

I know in the US it did receive national coverage my comment about the lack of media was exclusively to Canadian outlets that usually pick up and run with Canadians killed abroad.

Sorry for not clarifying

all major outlets here.

She was found after residents complained that the water pressure was down, and the tap water had started tasting bad.

I remember feeling very uneasy that all the media was talking about the water quality and interviewing people related to that but very little coverage of the bizarre death or the victim herself... no way she got to that roof alone. It feels very sinister.

It's weird that she doesn't seem in a rush to get the elevator going... she presses a bunch of buttons but somebody who wants to get out of there presses the close door button furiously... she stands there and looks out the door and stuff but doesn't really look like she's trying to get away from somebody.

In the longer version of the video you can see the door closes after she leaves. Also at the 0:08 mark you can see the door was closing but it opened up again. Maybe someone was pressing the button from the other side?

Nope Scratch out that theory, look what I found:

Elisa Lam's unexplained death draws attention, theories in China - latimes.com

Of course, read with a pinch of salt.

You are all making me angry with these stupid conspiracies. How many of you have ever been to skid row? How many of you have ever tried booking a hotel in Los Angeles and the Cecil was top of the list as the cheapest per night? None of you commenting are taking her death as hard as I am because I lived in the Cecil for a month before escaping my own death. Last summer, I ran away after dropping out of college and ended up at the cecil because it was all I could afford. While I was there, I was nearly raped, assaulted, charged for possession, theft, and fraud. I was robbed and my life was threatened. The police would not help me and so I went into hiding days before my flight would leave. Her death effects me because no one knows more about what you experience there more than the ones who actually stayed there!
There is no evil cult! Only a god damn sex offender on the 10th floor who calls himself Alvin Taylor and his adopted son Aiden who is a definitely a manipulative criminal who will do anything for money and who I also suspect in this case with Elisa... I'm speaking out about this because I honestly do believe that he is still trying to find me and I honestly do believe that her death is involved with him

Report this to the police Nate. I think they are involved in a cover up . No one is touting conspiracies. I think this place should have been condemned and shut down decades ago. Why is it still open luring unsuspecting visitors and starving students to their deaths ?

It's still open because of the high number of felons and sex offenders in the area who, by law, are required housing for their probation and because they can't get jobs, they are placed in cheap housing by the state. Skid row is the cheapest area in Los Angeles because of the high crime rate.
The police will not help you unless someone was shot, stabbed, or killed.
I went to the police station several blocks away from the Cecil and told them everything. They rote my report on a sticky note and told me to leave.
