I'll shoot you down...
Here comes the rant...................................
"dave clarke?
he put out a electro cd how long ago man? " doug said.
actually he's put out 3 electro cds. one LAST YEAR! part of the two disc mix cd set off of react records...expensive and only worth it for the electro mix (which isn't really that great except for the tracks he has on it)
Electro Boogie volume 1 (the best of the three) is available in a three cd package with the dj Hell and Mr C mix cds for $33 at HMV and Yonge and Eglinton.
That cd is a great example of electro old and new.
secondly,
check out any sets from Aux 88... Drexciya (DETROIT.)
AUX88 live pa's (since they're a live act) are 'meh' from the sets I used to have from France. Short too (45 min.)
I have a DJ Dijital (AUX88s DJ) tape and it is mostly ghettotech..a medly of electro and booty. Track listing: Suck it, Dick and Balls, Get your own check stub, posatronix etc.... Really ghetto ass tape including the hand drawn cover of a demon and some booty bitchez.
Drexciya (aka Dopplereffekt aka Other People Place aka Japanese Telecom, aka Heinrich Mueller aka Elektroids aka Der Zyklus (thats with Shake tho..) aka the best new school electro producer ever!!!!)
gerald aka drexciya etc.. doesn't make too many public appearances so I doubt you will ever find a live PA or dj set (don't think he spins anyways...could be wrong) ALTHOUGH IS YOU EVER DO HOOK ME UP!!!!!!!!!!
Doug scrawled:
"then if you want the fad of new wave electro check out Miss Kitten and the Hacker or anything for that matter on International Gigilo "
haha you're too funny technopimp
fad.
sorry buddy, but new wave (from the 80s) and electro (from the 70s) have been interwoven since Depeche Mode, italodisco and the days of masscara on men.
so you generalize International DeeJay Gigolo records on the lone record you have from that label (MissKitten and the Hackers first album).
ever check out the rest of the releases.
Terrence Fixmer- techno, up your alley too, I presume
David Carretta (sp?)- another amazing TECHNO producer
DJ Naughty- from electro to classic house music
also your buddy Jeff Mills is on IDG. Dave Clarke did a one sided techno record on IDG as well....Advent...I could go on and on about how IDG is more than a nuwave/electro fad label.
now for Richards original question on where to get some electro mixes.
email me in private or check out these commercially available cds.
