so, i was cruising through ebay looking at their 1200 prices and saw a couple of listings from Shakedown!

that is 2x1200MK2 for $1100

normally, I would think 1100 for the pair would be fine...

but from Shakedown!?

can you imagine how many people have used those things and all the different places they been transported... and the beating theyve probally taken?

the pitch sensitivity is probally wayyyyy off that of new models by now...

im just saying, that after seeing that I would probally be pretty wary of ordering anything like that from Ebay...

I've bought stuff through Ebay, it's always arrived in one piece though a little late ;)
Ebay is great for hard to find books, movies etc. I've gotten some stuff thats otherwise impossible to find, things that are out of print -whatever-
You just should have some knowledge about the product your shopping for before you buy.

i purchased my Mac off of eBay and have had great success with it. I;ve also bought a few little things and I know some people that have also purchased from eBay.

If you're getting anything large and expensive I would not even bother trying to get it from the states. you'll get dinged on the exchange, shipping, customs and taxes. it will end up being more than what you had intended on spending.

my Mac was from someone in Toronto and he delivered it to me personally and if there were any problems i knew where to reach him. i wouldn't have bought it unless i knew this.

a lot of stuff on ebay now is more expensive than what it's worth and people are using it as a cheap internet store front. this lessens the deals but can increase the security in knowing that they do many transactions and you should be satisfied.

I've used ebay several times and never had a problem. I think it's just common sense to keep your guard up and do things like check the sellers feedback and ask questions about items you are bidding on. Prices are usually high so it's best to only bid on things you know you wouldn't be able to find in a store.

I asked the guy when I rented a set from him fro my party last december and he gave me the same price.

Nobody really complained about them, and I used them myself and they seemed alright. However, I wouldn't buy them merely because they're not tuned properly. When you set the pitch to zero you can tell by the way the little dot thingies on the side of the platter rotate that its tuned properly.

I have bought lenses from eBay and they have been great. Ebay is great for hard-to-find lenses...
