Earplugs

I remember Deep posted about his supercool earplugs a while ago and I'm in serious need of some good ones. I already have a bit of tinnitus and I don't want it to get worse. Where did you get your non-custom fit ones Deep? I would have PM'd you but the more people know about earplugs the better I guess.

I know he talked about the ones from Etymotic Research. www.etymotic.com. They're $10 US a pair. I use them, and ever since I got them, I can't go without them at a party/club.

Etymotic's the place...I lost one of mine and have to order another couple pairs. Great earplugs, flat frequency reduction profile, more comfortable than they look.

Tinnitus ain't permanent is it? I mean, doesn't the ringing just go away after a day or 2?

:( <--- I better get ear plugs too.

Only if you havent heard it before. Take it as a good indication that you are exposing yourself to excessive volumes. If you keep partying without wearing hearing protection after the onset of tinnitus, you can do some serious damage.

I wear a hardband at work, like a pair of earphones.

Dave <----------Relieved to hear his audiologist say he has above-average hearing. Boy, was I surprised.

The best earplugs, in my opinion are Muscians Earplugs. I've got a pair and I can't go to a club without them. They are somewhat expensive but they'll give you a tax receipt so you can write them off. You're able to get them in two ways, 15db and 25 db, meaning that the music is lowered 15/25db when you have them in.

They are incredible. You go to the office and they squirt some stuff in your ear, wait 2-5 minutes or however long it takes to harden and then you come back in a week. What you get is a pair of customised earplugs that only YOU can wear. If you dj, you can use them while you play, if you talk on the radio in a club, you can use them as well, just put the headphones on like you usually would.

They take a little getting used to but they make a 100% difference when you're at a club. You don't even have to take them out when you talk to someone, you can hear everything perfect just 15db or whatever - lower.

Need the number? Email or PM me, I'll give it to you. If you go to clubs, you really should get a pair, your ears will never ring again.

I have the same ones - I highly reccomend them. You'll see where the money goes when you put them in. As Jay said, I find it hard to go without them now.

How ironic...I just came back from Shoppers to get some for tonite!
My ears are still a little sensitive after a nite of Howels @ System...
Have to look into those.... :)

I don't think they'll arrive by then, unless you are having them fedexed next day or something
