Doug Ford, #jail2023

Whats even sadder is how blue rural Ontario and the GTA doughnut keep saying shit like "HeS tRyInG HiS bEsT!" and "NoBoDy CoUlD hAvE pReDiCtEd ThIs!"

Heard the same from relations south of Toronto....
It's depressing how short people's memories are when it comes to his screw ups.

I hate the reframing of his incompetence as being circumstances that make him deserving of a second chance - it's ridiculous. But in the absence of any kind of formidable opposition in Queen's Park, what alternative is the public being presented with?

Well you know we'd all have been better off under Horvath, despite her weaknesses.

Almost any other party/leader would be better but you're right no one else has this "waiting in the wings" effect making people think they're credible as an alternative. Only thinking people recognize this, unfortunately LOL

I get the libs got too comfy and probably needed a cycling out but FFS more Wynne would still have been preferable to this mess

It's so frustrating to know we would have likely handled this far better under Horvath, but she just seems unable to step up and display meaningful leadership or at least get the media coverage she should be commanding as opposition during these times. There's a vacuum of presence or charisma with her or at least what she's putting forward in the media.

Totally agree though with what you're saying - the Liberals got complacent and just don't have any presence politically.

she sucks but dad probably did this on his own. that being said, deciding to handle sexual harassment in a particular way you might disagree with doesn't set women's rights back. the harasser does. supporting someone like doug ford as the head of the party you belong to, that's another story.
I totally agree with this take and think time has proven it to be true.

Lisa MacLeod saying that the vaccine mandates are "Ottawa's problem"

"The only way that this is going to be de-escalated, in my opinion, watching what I'm seeing, is if there is leadership, and that leadership has to come from the federal government," MacLeod told reporters this week during a virtual news conference on an unrelated topic.

That Ford Nation ideology and work ethic has definitely has set in with her.
