DG is the man!!!!
ok lets start at the beginning.....walk in happily paying twenty bucks and not having to wait in line....i am more than happy to support a dj that represents like that.
Evil P has been very impressive lately, as soon as he got warmed up ofcourse. got in there with an empty dance floor only to see it fill up real quick, in fact the whole night just flew right by, so i will try my best to describe what i saw...if anything. (it was one of those nights)
Right about the time DG hit the decks i was rippin', and believe
me it didn't get any slower, it just got crazier. I would have liked to see DG play a set of his own before going back to back with jelo, but there wasn't any shortage of relentless beats...that is for sure!
so with both these guys ripping shit up it was only natural to head straight to the front where you can feel the energy radiating from the dj's. after dancing like crazy i look to my left and DG is right there rippin it up too, now that is a great sight, to see the MAN right there havin as much fun as those partying to his beats. now that is a dj who enjoys his job, and does it very well.
From then on the night was a little hazy, between rockin mixes and pounding beats i found that the crowd was enjoying every moment...to see so many people going that hard, that long was very encouraging....i love looking at the time and thinking 'holy fuck' seven hours have gone by and not once have i even thought of taking a break to catch my breath or wondered about the slightest prospect of reality. this night was in fact my reality, i got to see my favorite dj control the crowd and take the club to new heights......thank you Donald Glaude!!!

Well, friday wasnt enough for me. After some arm twisting from a friend I made the right decision and visited system yet again on saturday. I felt obliged to make sure my aleks got to have some party fun as she wasnt available friday night.
Arrived at midnight and closed the place to the tunes of that bongo guy going solo on the dance floor. By this time he couldnt keep a beat for more than a minute.
There was a definate difference between friday and saturday. Larger crowd on saturday night, but Im guessing thats because of a "headliner". The crowd was awesome both nights in terms of vibe. Some good party people. I want more people out on fridays.
DJ Evil P. What the Fuck. Every single person I was with said the same thing. Where the Fuck did that set come from. He made a lot of people (including myself) eat our words on saturday. If he can consistently deliver sets like that, Toronto better watch out. Absolutely Sick. I cant even begin to explain the craft he put into that set. A great mix of very little stuff I know, and a lot of shit I hope to hear again.
I was there for Glaudes opening, but I missed his peak hours getting deep in conversation with Aleks in the VIP. I was 70% chatty on saturday as my body wasnt all that co-operative due to Friday. Closing the place was a surprise, the morning snuck up on me.
Great night. Its nice to know that Saturdays are still bang on with a good crowd and great DJ's.
If System improves their sound system I wont have to ever go to montreal.

But the tunes totally rocked and its all worth going for, even if my hubby has to fight himself free all night long. I've seen Glaude and Jelo several tims but man, they were off the hook. But too bad I didn't catch much of their set. Had to retire early....getting old.

I think Evil P has given me a reason to hit System up on a regular night. I normally only went for special events.....but his set on Saturday felt more like a headliner for sure! Is he there only on Saturdays, or Fridays as well!?!?

It was like back in the day last Saturday, DJ Evil P was BANgin' it out> "Nobody, listens to techno" say what!?>, followed by a back2back set that brought the full fire & then some....
Its amazing to see the club packed to the nines, and every body grooving at once- the union of a Toronto master bouncing back & forth with a coveted guest DJ (guarunteed to deliver a hype performance)> they were flowing together like water

I would also like to say that he has another Tribal Nonsense 10 hour set coming soon. If you have never experienced one of these, I HIGHLY recommend you check it out. You will understand why he truly is among best house DJs in Toronto right now.
