... yep, he has played in drag (as well as many other costumes / make-up), AAAANNNNDDD on stilts. Although he has been playing in civvies any time I've seen him in the last three years.

However.... contrary to popular belief, putting eyeliner and a dress on, walking around on stilts with bits of styrofoam attached to your head and going on about fucking all the the straight boys does not actually mean your gay.

It means your a FREAK!

He's definately freaky... but not gay, believe it or not.

Wrong.

We've ass-chased boys together... meaning he was at a club in Chicago and I introduced myself to him... and he said "hey, who's that guy you're with...?" and I said "oh, he's an ex... want his number...?" and he said "well, just introduce me... but don't introduce me as Dj Rush... I don't like that..."

I did... they swapped numbers... and used to talk to each other all the time... nothing sexual happened... but i know that there was the definite attempts at some fuckin on both ends...

From then on during the night we kept pointing out fly boys to each other... he got mad game, too. smooooooth.

Does Rush like women? Maybe... but he definitely likes boys.

Huh.... I guess I find it really sad that he denied being anything but straight in a recent mag interview I read. Too bad, that even in the nighttime world of clubbing and hedonistic debauchery one has to lie (or be very evasive) about sexual preference.

Here are the facts -- when asked about his over the top (and blatantly homo) alter ego possibly turning some people off of his music, he said that is was just a role he plays... and went on to talk about his girlfriend.

Seems evasive to me... but hell... coulda been interview editing or a number of other factors. I bow you your first hand authority in this matter.

As for my opinion on his music... he seems to limit himself a bit, although some may call this establishing a signature sound. He does have some standout tracks, though. Some of his Pro-Jex stuff kills!

well, the fact that it's even been brought up in a thread about the guy's music shows why many people feel they have to hide...

Ask Curtis A Jones (aka Cajmere) why he has yet to come out in the 15+ years he's been involved in the dance scene...

Ask Dj Dan why he doesn't talk about his sexuality even tho' he knows there are plenty of young gay folk who would love to have him as a role model... in fact, you can ask that of the entire Funky Tekno Tribe guys...

As the scene's gotten more and more popular, the wrong elements have come into the scene... gay bashing (even verbal) has reached an all-time high... and this is WITHIN the scene...

hell, people don't think twice to say "oh, that's gay"... which means bad... which puts it in people's head "gay = bad" ... oh that Dj is gay ... wait.. is he a homosexual or is he a bad Dj...?
does it matter...?

Again, the fact that this thread has turned into a "Dj Rush is a cool producer -- no he's not" into a "Dj Rush is gay -- no hes not..." Maybe that's why everyone feels they have to hide it...

I think the only one who hasn't re-canted their gayness is Keoki... but damn it's Keoki... how could he even re-cant all THAT much ghey!!!??

When he played at aria he was there with some girl and he was trying to pick up my buddies girlfriend. To the point he had to tell Dj Rush to take a hike.

Yep....Deep, Funky, Clanking and Hard. Currently I have a bunch in stock from Christian Varela, Leo Laker, Henry Cullen, and the label owners Mara Branco and Julian Sandell. The DJ Rush 4x4 should be in stock next week...and I do phone orders for people out of town.
