Direct Tv Users!!

Just thot I start a topic on it since I know there are a few of you out there that have it.

Who has a system?
How do you like it?
Do you miss the Can Con?
Favourite channels?
How often does yours go down,
do you have a writer?
Who writes your cards?
Favourite receiver?
TIVO?
HD Recorder?

Me, I like the convenience of it, especially with having a cardwriter. I get a new code in the mail within a few hours of it going down and write it anew.

I hate some of the American programming, and hate the frivilous PSA spots like the ones for groups like "Advocates against daylight savings time" WTFF??

The audio channels are cool, and come with dumb vis screensavers.

I usually watch the E channel, History Interntional, A&E, HBO, Discovery, TLC, and that's it really. Movies take up too much time for me.

Anyhow.. you?

Do you have a site, or pricelist on stuff?
I know a few people that want to get systems.

I've got one and I love it.

Only problem is that now it goes down probably once every couple of weeks wherehas before last year it would only every 6 months or so.

I don't have a loader so I go to some store to get the card fixed. It's pretty annoying having to do that all the time, so I thing I might just have to get my own loader.

favorite channels would have to be all the pay-per view ones. I like movies.

we have direct tv...the complete package..unfortunately ours goes down every other week it seems, and the person who does the card programming doesn't seem to do the 'best' job since it goes down that much, but it's done for free so i guess i shouldn't complain. most of the channels are useless crap aside from the ppv movies, discovery, and playboy/vividTV...nonstop entertainment!

I do audio production at a company that produces videos.

I'm just amazed at the canadian popularity of Direct TV and the amount of legit canadian distributers of the hardware to hack it.

Direct TV is semi-legal in canada event tho it's only Legally available in the US.

Bell tried suing Direct TV because it's american content was infringing on Bell's canadian market a while back. Bell lost the suit because Direct TV is not offered in Canada therefore they were not liable for any market loss. Since then, canadian Direct TV distributers began spreading like ebola since they were not legally liable when it came to offering illegal services.

Now, practically everyone I know has a direct TV system.

I program my own card, I don't go down since I have a good bin w/ activation. I watch a helluva lot of sports (nhl center ice, etc), also ppv, hbo et al, and definitely comedy central, food network, and BBC America.

I still need to improve the site.ie: color! But, you will find most things you need on there. I'm trying to learn how to use dreamweaver and golive so I can make a nice site.But, no rush.

FYI...Direct tv will be coming out with a whole new generation of cards. Probably not til like December though, but this will render all H and HU cards obsolete.

They've done this before with there Gen 1 F cards, but for some reason, they didnt choose to do them with H cards...they just made a new card based on slight differences...thus...the HU. So count your blessings and Crank away.

By the way...for all those without loaders. I suggest getting the activation scripts, Direct Tv seems to be leaving those ones alone (once every 2 weeks or so) Compared to the consistant Weekend hashing of popular 3m scripts.

I consider myself lucky, i found a good 3m script thats been going since February...(knock on wood)...

YEA, I been hearing that story for the last year.

It's all hearsay that Direct TV propigates to reduce illegal sales & useof their systems.
