A while back I started a thread on digital radio- and someone mentioned they know where one can get it here.

Is it possible? I know that XM and Sirius is making moves to come up here, but is there a way to get it here now a-la greymarket digital cable? (dish)

I want to get digital radio in my car, so I'm curious too!
My deck supports XM I believe.

How can I get it?

I'm so getting it when it comes to Canada. Sirius kicks ass.
You can subscribe to a US adress and it works fine here if you want.

from www.sirius.com

6. Is SIRIUS available in Canada or Mexico?
At this time SIRIUS is only licensed to offer service within the continental United States. However, we are taking steps to become a licensed broadcaster throughout Canada: check out this press release for more information.

Fuck sirius. XM satellite radio is going to take over the market. They have better everything, and might end up buying SIRI one day.

I got tired of waiting for the CTRC to do something, so I ordered a nice unit and home kit last night off ebay.

huzzah!

Digital Radio, as far as Im concernec, is dead in the water
Satellite Radio ie. XFM & sirus are going to be fucking fantastic (one the CRTC makes a decision)

Like mentioned above, you can get a satellite radio reciever in the states and bring it up here, all you need is a friend/family with a billing address in the U.S.

You can buy XM radio at xmfan.com and they can ship it to a canadian address, for Sirius you can get it from tigerdirect.ca

I listen to both XM (home) and Sirius (work), if you like breaks Siruis has a dedicated breaks channel. But if you like Satoshi tomie, frankie knuckles, david morales and louie vega then go with XM as they have a weekly show on there, also XM has the essential mix.

for the last few months i've been listining to Sirius here at home through my "Dish network" dish, and i gotta say it kicks some ass. it's great listening to radio with no commercials and no censorship.

the breakbeat channel as romstah mentioned earlier is really good and is probably the one i listen to most.

if you're interested in the programming on serius check here

channals 61-66 carry the underground dance music favoured by many here on tribe. while marshall mathers's "shady 45" channel can also be quite the listening experience.

Are you able to register for Sirius with a Canadian mailing address? Or did you do it another way?
I want to get Sirius and would like to know my options.

Thanks in advance,

Sean

you need a US mailing address, and just use your canadian credit card.

i've been an XM subscriber for almost 4 years now and i haven't had any problems.

I'm sure sirius is the same.

Is the US mailing address for them to send you the receiver or bills or both?

My aunt lives there, I could use her address... could I?

the US address is where they send their junk mail like promo stuff. The bill just shows up on your credit card, and online

nope. you can even use a bogus mailing address, but if you gonna do that just pick the state with the lowest state tax.

Some subscribers even put the competitor's mailing address.

I got my skyfi at $90 US, now you can get the skyfi2 for about the same price.

Yeah, so I work for XM and got one of their radios for a Christmas bonus. It;s bloody mighty!!!! ....and get;s great reception from my apartment....

Armin van Buuren was talking of moving his State of Trance show to XM

Also everytime I put on channel 82 they are playing Greece 2000

They were testing out their repeaters in Toronto for a while

Don;t buy XM radios from eBay....a lot are stolen and they won;t be activated.

Just buy your radio from Amazon, or Crutchfield, or Circuit City. Just make up an address when activating it, it doesn;t matter if it;s even real, as long as the postal code is a real one...they don;t even check your credit card's billing address. The company database has several Homer Simpson's living at 742 Evergreen Terrace and 90210 as a postal code. All their accounts work fine.
