i was checking out the GU board at globalunderground.co.uk and noticed a few mentions of the sasha/digweed appearance in TO happening april 23. anyone got the details on who the promoter is, where the event is happening, and perhaps details on an after party? yah i know this is months in advance.. but it's not every day they come to TO!

i saw digweed at meow back in 2000.. not the best venue, but made some cool friends. i think that was the time that nick warren was spinning the very next night, and oakenfold was at connected two days later.. can't say much for the latter, but the boxed boys were on form. if memory serves, sasha played there as well that same year. has it been two years since sasha/diggers were last in TO? man....

i caught digweed at twilo's 4th-year anniversary (blew my mind)..
i guess we can expect a good ten hours of bliss ;)
peace

ps. anyone seen Heaven Scent on vinyl (i saw a new limited edition remix at satellite records but it's nothing compared to the original)?

I heard it was Friday the 26th at the KH for a very reliable source. Although my memory might not be as reliable. If it is, my 2 hardest finals will be over by then!

hmm... I heard that Sona just announced that S&D will be spinning in Montreal on Thursday, March 28... wonder if that has any bearing on their T.O. appearance.... seems like Friday, March 29 could be the date ... I remember that date was rumoured as a possibility... oh well, just more fuel for the fire I guess until we hear something official...

I'll Give You the Inside Scoop.....

Hey everyone. Here's the inside scoop on the Sasha & Digweed event. It's on FRIDAY APRIL 5TH in Kool Haus. Tickets go on sale on Thurs. Feb. 21st at 10am at Ticketmaster, Rotate This, Sonic Temple, Soundscapes, Play De Record & Release Records. $36 for limited earlybird tickets and $46 after.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think there is anything else posted on the 'events' page of their site, but there better be some more djs being booked! Especially for the $46.... and I don't mean just JVM!

Albert. - Hoping finals won't start for a solid week after this event..

Sohaness - I guess you might have to reconsider those travel plans once again :D

^^^^^ yea but that was 3 years ago... we all know how much things have changed in the last 3 years. You can't even compare ticket prices to the way things were last year.

$46 is great for S&D... I bet many places in the states will be charging the same price in US dollars to see them.

Mark, where the hell have you been? :)

Their fees have gone up significantly over the last 3 years.

Sad, but true.

who's putting this loverly shingdog on? Just Gvu/KH or is it Gold Club again... for the price I would think maybe just the venue crew.

If prices have tripled in three years, will they triple again in another three? Would you pay $125 in advance to hear them in 2005?

In comparison, Carl Cox is $20 @ Tonic (all night long), the same price when he was @ Turbo last year...and he was $20 in advance when he Industry the year before.

uhhhhh yea thats also a Wednesday night!
And you get to see Sasha AND Digweed for 46. Divide that by two and its 23 each lol. Not much more than your paying for Carl Cox!

It's hard to believe people are complaining about the ticket prices for S&D... Yes it is more expensive than the last time they were here (3 years ago), and yes it is more expensive than most other parties. BUT it is still a lot cheaper than the usual S&D ticket price in the U.S. or U.K. The average ticket price for a S&D show in the U.S. is about $35 - $40 U.S. ($50 - $60 Canadian).

I consider myself very lucky to be living in Toronto, on average our ticket prices for these type of events are always much lower than everywhere else in the world. If you think it's expensive here, then you should go to the U.K. and pay £10 or £15 ($22-$33) just for a regular night at clubs like Fabric or M.O.S

$36 is an amazing price for S+D. Unbelievable infact ... across the US ticket prices are $40 US and up easily. I can't believe people are complaining.

Sasha and Digweed over the past few years have established themselves as THE top DJs in the world. Wether you choose to admire them for that, or to despise their commerical success is up to you. But $36 for a concert style event (concert phazon sound system) is a damn good price. Sasha and Digweed were recently named number 12 in Rollingstone's list of most important artists in music today. $36.

Carl Cox is a great DJ ... but he's nowhere near S+D's level anymore. Case in point, last time he came to Turbo the place was half full. The way Sasha and Digweed are these days, they could come on a Tuesday at lunchtime and the place would be packed.
