HOLY SHIT!
The night started out the way any good night should start with Peter & Tyrone. These two vet's have everything there is to have when it comes to house, I love listning to these guys.

-Then the master-

It's no wonder why they call this guy the master.
Derrick absodeffenitly killed it!!!!
The crowd was cool, they moved to his sound all night long.
His style ranged from the smooth, groovy style that we all know derrick can kick, to a hard in yer ass style that totally blew people away.

Then it was 6:00am and Time for the man

Derrick Carter played until 6am? Holy shit... I left at 4:30 and he had already been playing for more than 3 hours!

Awesome set though, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I heard. There were more than enough pianos, saxaphones, and vocals to keep me happy.

I didn't see anyone from Tribe though (except Alex D and Rob Selecta of course)... I guess everyone was too tired from the Tribe party. Lightweights.

Got there about 12:15... huge line up. when I got in I got to catch the last bit of Peter & Tyrones set sweet as always.. but then the master got on the decks and all bets were off he hit me with a couple of rights then a left and just when I thought I could take what he was dishing out he hit me with an upper cut that knocked me on my ass

my only negative on the night was the crowd..? I don't usually go to life is this always the crowd or was it just because of the big Dj? just a little different I guess is the word I'm looking for. (trying to be polite as poss)

I have found that the crowd at Life sucks sooooo much that I will not patronize the club (some armtwists notwithstanding). Bunch a coked up gios and sketchpads! Peace,

Derrick Carter is THE MAN. The music was amazing as to be expected, but the air quality in that club is disgusting. You could cut the room in half with a knife its so humid from sweat and cigarette smoke. Maybe I'm just being picky but I like to be able to breathe when I party. bah...

Now I have to admit, I am not a Derrick Carter fan. In fact, In have seen him twice before and was not impressed. I have seen him at Tonic a while ago and of course at the I - Dance rally. I ventured into Life really early so as to avoid lineups and the like....on to the music...

Straight up Booty Bangin' HOUSE MUSIC folks. Everyone was rubbin' everyone. The crowd was lovin' it. Life is a very hot club (temperature wise)! People just didn't seem to mind. Highlight of the night was when he dropped the old school track...."Life...Whadda ya want from Life....Whateva you need from Life...." (obviously Mr. Carter was getting a little fresh with the crowd and I was trying to get a little fresh with the ladies)

Behaviour seemed much more in order. People were talkative...no fights....just a good time had by all! I had my share of drinks as well so I wuz feelin' it!!

Lowlight of the night....just before I left...I decided to stand in a corner and just rest my weary bones...(I was soooo tired from seeing Ben Watt and Anthony Pappa the nights before) I decided to rest my hand on the drink ledge in the corner....What's that on my hand?!?!? Puke....someone puked in the corner and I rested my hand in it! GHB puke I bet.... oh well....

I just cleaned up and left....

Another good nigh in the city of T.O. regardless......

yeah, the crowd at Life leaves a lot to be desired... but how are they going to learn if cool, real people who love the music don't go to support the kick-ass talent the nation crew bring on saturdays? maybe if we all get there earlier there won't be any room for the coked up ginos...

mr. carter is so the man... it was the best set i've heard him play in a while... even better than his jam at Life in december... it was awesome seeing the dancefloor full of dancers right until the end... even during the witching hour (drinkers last call, from 1-3a.m. kind of thing) the dance floor was more full of dancers than wasted people.

yeah there were a couple of fights... why do people need to do that shit? i guess it's the booze and drugs and shit... brings out the agressive in people and clouds their minds...

***anyone checking out Leon Alexander this Saturday? never seen him but have heard good things.
