Good - get the city to pay those little bills and I think the city of Detroit should kick that saucy bitch Carol Marvin out and re-instate Carl Craig. That would be GOOD media material...and get the festival back on an international level that it needs to be resurrected to.

Werd! to that statement. As well, if corporate sponsorship is to be sought out, and it most likely needs to be, they should find something that actually falls in line with what it's all about. They should hit up all the major equipment manufacturers (Roland, Yamaha, Technics, etc etc) and incorporate a mini trade show with it, or something to that effect. Make it at least a little more true to the nature of the festival than, say Pepsi or Ford.

God knows Technics should be able to afford it with it's product in just about EVERY DJING SPACE ON THE PLANET. (i'm not complaining!)

But yes, I agree. Perhaps Carl Craig might even waive his suit if he gets reinstated as head of the festival...that'd save even more $$$.

man, i'm tired of everyone bigging up Carl Craig and Derrick May
sure, what they did for techno as a whole was inspirational

but they're a bunch of artsty fartsy mofo's that haven't done shit in years... bring in the new heads that know whatg goin' on.

I can't think of anybody but Carl Craig & Derrick May who are experienced enough to take over DEMF. I'm interested in knowing which new DJ's / Producer' can fill that role, and keep the integrity of the soul that come's out of Detroit intact.
