LCDs are brighter, but plasma's display a better picture and handle moving scenes better IMO.

I think 290? But I think that measurement included the stand though.

Cheers ... Ian :)

Holy crap!

Ya I think the 32" I had was 165lbs alone ...
And my 46" WideScreen Projection is only 130lbs.

I still think KiFe since he's a hardcore gamer should pickup an InFocus and a Screen...

That way he can play PC Games and Watch TV on it :D

Only problem is I think they only do 1280x1024 ....

hows the bulb life been over the years?

I actually need to find a projector in the near future. But I was wondering how it was from a practical stand point.

The Bulbs on these projectors are supposedly 1-2000 hours.
And last time we bought one it was ~$800 for a replacement.

But that was years ago, never replaced the bulbs on the new Projectors, we have quite a few at work...

Usually the 5-12k price tag on the Projector is more important ;)

yeah I'm about 6 months behind on the search. But a nice plasma would still make the most sence.

Problem is at the low end projectors have drpped into the 1500 range. In my current circumstance HDTV is somewhat secondary to brightness and price.

i have had it for like 4 years, and almost 2000 hours of use...it's still on the original bulb.

no complaints here.

edit: the best thing about it, is the VGA input...it displays at 1024x768 which is more than enough to run it as a large second monitor with the laptop sometime :D

I know a guy in R&D.
His company is developing the next/best technology.

He said Plasma is shit as it slowly detieriats (sp?) until it's useless.

A 6 month old plasma does not look as clear as a new one.
