alright, seeing as how I'm the only geek that came home this early i'll be the first to post my review

aboso-fuckin-lutely phnomenal!

the people at *breathe* have outdone themselves once again. Amazing music (Dave Seaman AND Luke Fair). Lighting and sound awesome as usual. Wicked decorations. Friedly crowd (not the usual sketchy Saturday night Guvernment crowd).

Props to all the TBK that shared in this experience

I spent the night outside in the parking lot flyering, but I could hear the music from there. Sounded damn good to me, to bad I wasn't inside though. Mr. Seaman himself even came outside while he was supposed to be playing.

After Tiesto I never thought my body could handle Seaman, but seeing I had free tickets I said what the hell. I'm so glad I went. Luke Fair's set was a bit boring, but I was blown away by Seaman. Good track selection, a nice up and down pace to his set, and I'm glad I stayed to the very end, the last few songs were great. I thought I wouldn't hear that Planet Funk song agian but it's a good song, a nice finale. His mixing was spot on, not one mistake. Shouts to Gord, thanks for coming along.

Last night truly was one to remember!

Somehow magically the pain in my legs went away, and I was able to dance again (albeit only for a few minutes at a time cuz I'm a lazy ass).

The venue looked lovely--as did most of the patrons (although around midnight, some drunken guy came and passed out next to me on the couch;I think he was there the rest of the night).

Of course, I enjoyed the music & the friends I reconnected with or met on the night. Thanks especially to Deep--you made our night

I can honestly say the Guvernment is getting better, in terms of the crowd. Last night the crowd were really up for it. The decor, sound, and lighting were phenomenal.

Luke Fair - This guy has "future star" written all over him. I thought his set was absolutely amazing. His style is very original and thats what I admire. Mixing was spot on, and he built his set wonderfully. Too bad he came on late. What was up with that? Its all Oliver's fault! I see good things ahead for you luke.

Dave Seaman - Well...This man has been my favourite DJ for a long time and his "renaissance" style is exactly what I love. I was extremely excited to see him to say the least, as most of you could tell. But last night I have to say in all honesty I was a little disappointed. He played so many "big" tunes that I've heard so many times. I was expecting more exclusives cause he is after all DAVE SEAMAN, and not your regular prog DJ. But last night he did seem regular. Maybe my expectations were way too high. here's an idea of what played

Depeche Mode - I feel loved (dt mix) < very last track
Kamaya Painters - Wasteland (Chab)
BPT - Moody (Futurshock)
planet funk - chase the sun
brannacchio and aisher - a lovely day
Iio - rapture (deep dish mix)
Fatboy Slim - A song for Shelter (chemical bros mix)
x press 2 - smoke machine
x press 2 - muzikizum
tarentella - karma (praha mix)
Superchumbo - The Revolution (Trendroid Mix)
Tbombra Vira - Drums Come Alive
scumfrog - we love you
fsol - papua new guinea (satoshi tomiie mix)

He did have his moments though. But like I said the crowd were really up for it and he could've taken them anywhere last night. People were screaming the minute he walked on stage. His programing was a little all over the place too. Mixing was pretty good. I loved it when he would sing along.

Great to see SOOOOOOOO many people I know last night. All of you, and you know who you are, made it a wicked night. Even though my expectations were not met, I still had a blast and danced my ass off like I havent in a while.

Well, Steve's review pretty much says it all for me so I'll just throw in some comments.

Agreed on all accounts. Luke, you had me dancing and nodding my head through your whole set. Those nerves you were talking about didn't show through one bit, man. We all agreed that you even looked the part up there!

Well done..

Again, agreed. I was expecting a lot more melody and a lot less pounding. I can see how this set would have been really enjoyable if someone had gone in not knowing Dave's trademark sound, but for those of us who know his love of beautiful prog trance, this wasn't what we had expected. I really wanted to stay for his whole set, but I just couldn't get into it last night. Plus, the air quality in there was putrid, and I felt like I couldn't breathe all night long (no pun intended).

This is really what it's all about. There is such a tight group that I run into all over the place, and you all know who you are. It makes a night so much more enjoyable when you're surrounded by quality people who know how to have good time. Running into all of you folks makes a night great, regardless of the music or the venue. My frends from St. Catharines who don't come out much in Toronto always have a great time and feel right at home when they come with me, and that has so much to do with "the welcoming crew".

Hope to see everyone out again soon!

You know, I don't get it.. Why do you always make comments like this? I mean, do you actually like prog and you're genuinely curious, or are you just being a smart ass? I can never tell, so please enlighten me.

I'm not being bitchy here, just wondering you always pop in with this type of question in the prog forum threads.

OMG I just peeled my ass out of bed and now i have a few things to say. WOW. Seaman rocked that sound system. I myself was disaponinted in the lack of vocals used in His set but boy did he ever bang it out. No offence to Mark Oliver but i was waiting for him to get off. He did his job and opened the night of nice, thanks but i wanted the show to move on. Luke was on fire. This man has talent coming out of his ying-yang. He was awsome. Does anyone know how many of his own traks he droped, i know of one but i think Oliver might of droped it just before Luke got on. The crowd at Gov was good. At first it sucked but then i found the Breathe family and everything just fell into place. Sam, John, Brain, Jay, Allie, Steve, Matt, even you Scaife(sorry to all those i forgot, but my mind is out of place). Great night was had by all i think. Dave gets two thumbs up. He was worth the wait, hope i dont have to wait that long again though. Props to Breathe and Goverment for a great party.
Peace
Mike

So it was my another one of my bright ideas that led to me the Guv last night followed by an 11am shift at work; these sunday nights are killing me! (but ohhhh so worth it)

It was good to see everyone out last night, especially a certain *someone*

Am I the only one who seems to be going through an animalistic party phase? Some may even descirbe my situation as 'over the top.' But all in good fun!

Dave was ok. He had the crowd goin hard for a few hours and suddenly the energy level in the crowd came down. hmph.

had an interesting run in with a bouncer who grabbed me in the washroom and took me to the serving area behind the bar. When I asked where we're going and what's going on he told me to shut up and walk or he'll break my legs, so I'm thinking riiiiiiiight. I was then told to empty my pockets and he thoroughly searched me and checked my wallet for cash and other things. Of course he found nothing. I asked what was going on again (as if I didn't know by this point) and he told me I was seen dealing by other security and if I was caught hanging around 'those people' again he'd kick my ass outta there. what the fuck. Scared the shit outta me and i was afraid to go to the washroom again for a lil while.

thats my storey.

Peace & love. D

It made me happy.

Except for the sample in Smoke Machine by Xpress 2.

I fucking hate that track. Makes me want to break things and people

Minister of I had an excellent time. Great to see the TBK out in strength.

the guvernment looked awesome last night...the visuals, the screens, balloons & of course all the great tbk people in the place made this one of my best nights out in a long time...wandered in after checking out rollaboogie @ the koolhaus which was also a lot of fun, & quickly bumped into kevin who directed me to the far side where the crew was in place (who would have guessed everyone would be hanging out by the bar
smile.gif
)...

anyways luke fair was playing wicked...he definitely got me in the groove right away & you would think he was part of bedrock or something with his excellent mixing & awesome track selection...

seaman was up next & i guess since i had kept my expectations fairly in line (after GU Cape Town vs the beautiful Renaissance discs) i wasn't let down...as steve pointed out lots of big name tracks, but i sort of didn't mind...i guess the night bordered more on his cape town style which is good, but not mindblowing...however still lots of fun & i kept moving til almost 7:30 this morning when the bouncers came up on stage & told him to shut it down...he really wanted to keep going as he tried to slip another track on, but was basically given the death stare to cut it (kind of funny
smile.gif
)...

beautiful people everywhere, a great friendly vibe & a perfect way to end turkey weekend...good to see everyone (& i mean everyone was out last night) you always make the nights so much better...it has been a great year of dancing & partying together...

hope everyone got home safely & y'all have a great week...

oh yes i forgot to mention how awesome it was to not only chill w/ the tbk, but to see almost all the breathe crew in the place (we won't mention a notable absence ok nesta
smile.gif
) ... it is amazing the beautiful vibe of the breathe crew & truly like i just finished saying it has been a pleasure getting to know all of you...

wow. that's the only way to sum up last night for me. luke fair rocked it out! he had me dancing so early in the night. i was trying to save myself for dave seaman, so i wouldn't get tired early, but i couldn't help myself, i was grooving from his first track! then mr seaman came on and, while it wasn't exactly what i was expecting, damn was it good! my neck is hurting from bobbing it up and down and left and right so much
smile.gif
it was a lot harder than i expected, which i thoroughly enjoyed, but i was hoping for just a touch of some more melodic stuff. ah well, can't complain, had a fabulous time. a fabulous time made all the better by the absolutely HUGE TBK TURNOUT! holy shit was that back bar just for us or what?
smile.gif
great to see everyone out, and got a chance to meet a few new tbkers which i had not had the pleasure of meeting previously. all in all, great night made even better by great people.

p.s. fred says he had fun too

Holy Sheeeitt...what a night!!!

I'm pretty exhausted right now...haven't slept much and travelling back to London from a gig blows.

Ok, first off, i want to send a big thank you out to DEEP for picking my ass up from London and bringing me out...eternally gratefull bruvva!

The Party:
LUKE FAIR ROCKED IT!!!!!!!!

Seriously, Luke you tore it up!!! Such a dirty sound...

luke basically had the perfect opening set...

Seaman followed and met all my expectations... beautiful prog...it's great to actually get a chnage from the 'chunkier' side back into long, lush, breakdowns and surreal build ups...

Oh, and that OASIS cover he played was hype...Liam Gallagher never sounded so good.

Big shout out to the TBK and Breathe crews..

a few people i met for the first time:
Trini, ChickPea, Girl Friday, Vinder, Plunger, and Dora(thanks for the hospitality, greatly appreciated
smile.gif
)

Last but not least...

GIZMO!!! WHY WEREN'T YOU THERE? YOU LITTLE BITCH!!!

Same applies to Nesta and Rick!!!

Not always. This is only my third time mentioning Deep Dish. No hidden agenda. Just wanted to know if he dropped any Deep Dish remixes. Deep Dish are the h:foundation of prog. so I just wanted to know if Mr. Seamen dropped any Deep Dish.

Not curious about prog. ==============> Suke.

Amazing time.

oliver: typical. Playing to his Guv crowd. The crowd seemed to be into his set but I thought it was ordinary at best. Strong mixing and good track selection tho but I didn't feel it. Guess he wasn't about to drop killer tracks at 10pm.

Luke: Impressive I must say. Have herad him much in the past but it was a delight to see the crowd response to his set. Many people asking "who IS this guy??!!?". Great set, loved the few breaks track he throw down. I also like the fact that he left Seaman to follow off on a highly pounding note.

Seaman: Only heard him for a two and a half hours. Didn't really take it anywhere in that space of time. He lived up to my expectations thought of his recorded sets. A little bit to mellow for my liking.

Guvernment: The first time I have been here for 2 years. I ws quite impressed with the lighting. I also like that they had the DJ booth set up in back on the raised platform; almost everyone in the place could view the DJ's.

People: Wonderful, wonderful people turned out for this. It was great to see all of you again and equally great to meet a tonne of new faces.

Well worth my 4 hour drive from Windsor.
