sheeeeeet.

what a great night!
D:Fuse has once again proved why is one of the best DJ's in the business. I think he's got better every time I've seen him and last night was the fucking shit. None of that boring prog, just nice and hard and slammin the way I like it. I think I'm going to go see him play in detroit in a few weeks to.

went with a great group of people to which also made the night that much better. My ass is still sore from being grabbed so many times, and as it turns out I now have two asian twins.
hope you had a great b-day keith.

Yes, me give you good luv. Long time. Me at your service. Fie dollah! Fie dollah!

Lori, your boyfriend's got a bubbly ass. Congratulations!

Evan, D:Fuse sucked. I don't know what you're talking about. Oh I know, maybe because you left when he started spinning some weirdass, prog/retro/house/techno/vocal/new wave shit. But he switched to some nastier basslines which I actually really liked. I can't say the same for Keith; every bassline was pushing him closer to the heave factor.

I liked everything that was hard and slammin'. I liked everything that didn't remind me of Eurodance.

I kept looking around the crowd was thinning out quick. And the people looked bored. The ones left dancing (us and a few others) probably looked like D:Fuse-heads but I was just standing at the front by the DJ because the angle blocked my view of his stupid American flag cowboy hat. (Sorry, I let patriotism get in the way of my perception of a djs set, sue me). Anyway, there was a lack of diversity in his track selection. And the buildups were cool but then they would lead into some light, fluffy track. And I kept thinking "this is what he was building up to? It's the same as before the buildup!"

Anyway, it was fun (aside from my stomach ache and my pissiness) because we were celebrating Keith's birthday. I hope it was a good one for you, buddy. Lots of love, you ol' geyser.

And what's with the backroom not being open??? Beaker and I were so "wanting a breakbeat."

Much love to the H&M peeps. I always have fun with all of you no matter how much the music sucks.

Like I said to Susan after she made this "I'm bored and this sucks" look at me: "Well, we're in a dark room, there's flashing lights, loud music and boom boom boom. That's all we need, really..."

And by the way, house is ass, Evan. And if house was your ass, Lori, keith and I would grab it throughout the night without you knowing who it is. :D

i have to say i was pretty impressed with d:fuse last night. he threw it down HARD from the get go. from some really hard prog to some more techy stuff and even a little fluffy trance thrown in for good measure.

the thing is, after a while, we can all count to 4. needed a bit more variety near the end, which is when we left.

cheers to the birthday boy and all those in attendance, the funness continues.

d:fuse was ok, he was funny when he got on the mic and shouted out snarky comments to people. Too bad I didn't have one to tell him to stop playing ASS.

The drunken bartender was the best!! She was so plastered she kept making wrong drinks, I don't mind a double gin and tonic for $5.

I had a great time thanks to my friends that were there.

Random moment:
guy - It's your birthday right?
me - Ah....yeah...sure.
guy - here, happy birthday!
*hands me a bottle of water*

Who the hell was that?

not bad not bad.
d:fuse played some more banging tracks which was ok..seening as most progresive is a big pile of boring. if i wasnt tired i woulda been shakin' it a lot more. although i noticed progressive sounds a lot better when you sing booty house tracks over top of it ;)
great to see so many people out (and grabbin' my boys ass..you guys are lucky i know how to share :p ;) ) so overall it was a damn fun nite...Happy Birthday Keith..enjoy the shirt..me and sunny have to get ours now..then we can kick it large in our genre bashing t-shirts :D

i can't really comment on d:fuse as i barely remember the music
but i just wanted to say thanks to virginia for not freaking out at me when i caused a mini-scene at the door.
so thanks, and i'm sorry, and the promoters at tonic have redeemed the club for me...at least on wednesday nights :D

galactic phantom kept telling people with glowsticks that it was my birthday and I wanted a lightshow. For that he shall pay with his life.

never fear, sunny - we'll always show you a good time:)

a very fun night - hope your birthday wasn't ass, Keith, although it sounds like your headache the next day certainly was! Props to the Mongolian Grill, both to the meal itself and the fun that was had. And Happy Anniversary to Nick - great to see you out again, finally:)

Much respect to D:Fuse for breaking up the dancing circle at the beginning of the night "Dancing, in my opinion, is not a spectator sport" ... and for shaking my hand at the end, telling us we were the real people for staying 'till the end and he was only playing "that shitty stuff" for a bit so the other folks would leave:)

i just picked up D:fuse's new cd from HMV and am quite impressed i must admit.
the first disk is nice chuggy progressive and the 2nd is more prog-trance.

i've only listened to the whole thing once so far...

This was a fun night. Even though I hate paying to get in. I haven't been to Tonic on a Wednesday for months.

It was great to see Malia, Heather and friend Erica of Guelph. Hope to run into you all often. If you go more Wednesdays email me for before-fun like food and stuff. mdave@sympatico.ca. I'm sure I will go for Carl Cox.

I, too, appreciated the dj coming into the middle of the floor with a big smile and telling people that they made him happy by dancing so long. I know a lot of dj's are just too shy to do that kind of stuff, but others just don't care. Obviously mr d=fuse cares.
