Czech and Scissorkicks @ Lovesexxxy sucked ass!

And do you know why it sucked ass?
Because we got kicked out at midnight. Seems the folks at Lovesexxxy didn't have a liqour licence so it was shut down.

No Czech. No Scissorkicks. No good times.

But it was a sign to head home after not going home last night from Turbo and drinking my ass off today with Booty Bits and the Stinger.

Note: I did shower and change my unmentionables.

Nice to see Debbie (Beaker's honey is CUTE!), McBee, Andrea, Kate, Madhatter, (even tho I didn't talk to him), Loress, Cosmic, Mr. Tall et al.

I feel really bad for the Eastern Bloc/Phunk Phest guys.... This was shaping up to be a such a nice night. Choice venue, great crowd, really good vibe, etc. etc.

Seems like the E-Bloc guys have a knack for finding really spiffy venues that then get shut down for some stupid legal reason. First Embryus, now this... what a shame.

My friend and I talked to the LCBO guy that shut them down (I remember seeing him earlier in the night and mentioning to my friend that something really bothered me about him). He said that the place had a liquer license, but they didn't have a "cabaret" license or something. I'm not really sure what the difference is but basically the owners will never get another license. Not unless they're willing to put out a nice big bribe I guess.

I ended up at b-sides for the techno thingie, which was okay, but I was really in the mood for some breaks that night.

well, it sucks that love sexy was closed down, but a bunch(A BIG BUNCH!!!!!!) of us, wandered down the street to the mad bar.......(after scrounging those free passes off the ground......)

czech ended up spinning there....and he fuckin rocked the place! i danced through the whole set and it was one of the best i've heard in a long time....

the crowd was SOOOOOO hyped =)

he turned a night that i thought was going to suck (cuz love sexy was shut down) into a night that i'll definatley remember(breakers taking over the mad bar)!

anywho......keep in mind the shit that went down had nothing to do with the promoter, czech wouldn't have played at mad bar if he wasn't already booked 2 doors down the street........

Anyways, sad to see the Dmonic's opening nite end in such a bad way. I was really looking forward to the night. Boo-urns to the club for not having their license sorted out properly.. blech.. hope the night will continue somewhere else.

Well, i was a little pissed when 7 of the 12 ppl. got in, and cutt the last five of us off. Then was relieved, when i didn't end up wasting my money. I was soooooo hyped for this night- I'm sorry everything didn't work out for ya Dan.

And as cosmic said- WHAT A BLAST AT MADBAR!!!!! woohoo- breakers take over! soo much fun- hyped crowd, wikkid set, overall wikkid, and drinks drinks drinks.

Then, to end the night on a bad note when we returned to our car - a broken into car.

Basically everything in the car was taken- stereo's, purses, cellphones, etc..... This sux so much! It's ppl. like this that make me wanna puke! Sorry steve!

well, my girl's nite out adventure with andrea turned out to be like 'an hour nite out'!!

it sucks that the nite got shut down. hopefuly it'll get going soon! i was looking so forward to having a regular saturday breaks nite!! i'm sorry things didn't work out Dan!

but always looking on the bright side of things, i decided to head home because my brithday hangover was really getting to me so i sold my parking ticket and drove home (having a dance party to your new tape madhatter!! its awesome!!!) and was in bed by 1am. yes i'm old and tired but damn my sleep was good!!!

would've liked to seen czech at madbar but sleeping was WAY better.

that really sucks, and I know what you mean when you say it's people like that that make you wanna puke, but the sad fact of the matter is that we've/we probably known/know people that do these sort of stupid things, and we didn't/don't know it.

My deepest apologies to all those that came out last night to the grand opening of Sorted Saturdays. The night was cut short and everyone's evening's were ruined due to the ignorance and unorganization of one person (the owner of the club). The sad thing was no one saw it coming... not even the staff.

Last night the club 'Lovesexxy' was raided by the LCBO for not having a proper liquor license. It would appear that the club had previously lost their license and had acquired a special event license to try and get around it. The Liquor Board figured out what was going on and in true LCBO fashion they shut down the night right as it started to get going.

My heartfelt thanks go out to all those that did make it out. This was my dream night, and to see that others shared in my dream made all the hard work worth while.

Thanks also to Jeff, Selecta, and the boys of Mad Bar for giving the breakers a cheap alternative and for giving Czech somewhere to play. Thanks to Chris D. for trying to find a last minute alternate location. Thanks to Scissorkicks and guys at 2Wars & a Revolution records for being so understanding. And a special thanks to all those that supported the night from the beginning and saw the vision of what could have been.

But we're not finished just yet.

Dan, I think everyone understands that it wasn't your fault, and most of us feel really bad for you guys. Finding a great venue like that, booking Czech and Scissorkicks, and then charging only $5 was extremely cool of you guys.

Honestly I don't think you even need to worry about a free make up party. Shit happens. I don't think anyone has lost any respect for the PhunkPhest/E-Bloc crew.

I just hope you can find another decent venue for Sorted Saturdays.

oh believe me, all that is taken care of already! It just sux ass- id, house keys- wallets- everything. And it was all hidden in the trunk! grrr.....

All in all, the night turned out well (for the most part). We took over Madbar, and rocked the hell out of the place!

...And, no worries, pure phunk will be back to raise the bar once again.

I am such a dick for not staying. I am all about milling about and having a good laugh but I was so freakin' tired from not sleeping all week. I actually forced myself to come out to check out the breaks last night and wanted to jet.

But all in all, I hope something else like that comes along. And I'm sure it will because that was a sensational crowd and it would've been great music.

Amber, I am SO DUMB. I should've stayed but I couldn't even stand any longer. Like I said, I was in the same outfit from Turbo the night before (and on some martinis, beer and caesars) so I would've died.

I'm sure plenty (including me) TOTALLY appreciated the way things turned out anyway and how the project came to be anyway. I mean, 5 bucks was wicked enough.

Everyone was disappointed because there was a "fluctuation." Scissorkicks and 2Wars will be EXPECTED in the future! A must please!

I even said at the club, "screw the beer and just let them play!" But that only happens in movies or something.

Well I got to LoveSexy and found it quite alive..and quite the nice place too!! The music was good, the ladies were better (sorry Dan

) and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves...then of course the unfortunate happens, and out we are...we first decided to go home, but then decided afterwards that perhaps we *should* check it out...

and oh was I FUCKING glad i did..!@

Of course, most of you know who joined the party at the MadBar...and of course Mr Czech was at his FABULOUS best...my oh my i was groovin...The old-skool hip-hop was just what the doctor ordered, and it was delivered! It seemed the lot of the LoveSexy refugees ended up at MadBar afterwards, and it seemed like the place just got overun!

It was great seein everyone again (like it always is

)...and ive been listening to FAR to much breaks!
