Cut copy - et alors?

A friend went to this and said it was one of the worst nights she had in years. According to her, she spent an hour in line and when she actually did get inside it was so packed that she couldn't move. I guess thats what to expect with sold out shows?

Was it sold out though? I got a message from Circa on the day of sayin that tix were still available at the door.

Yeah it packed like a can of sardines. I've never been to a concert that was as bad as that. The line to get in stretched down to Richmond and then west along that past Alice Fazooli's and that was at 11pm.

We managed to sneak in the back entrance for the bottle service guests. There were a ton of 19-20 kids that were absolutely blottoed. I don't ever remember going to a club and being as wasted as they were so early. Rookies! hahaha

Cut Copy were fantastic, but dancing was an impossibility. We went upstairs to the 2nd floor and stayed at the bar. We could move around there but could barely hear them.

I was glad I saw them back in September at the Docks, now that was a party with room to dance. But I felt bad for my buddies who had never seen them before and the over-crowding ruined their experience.

Don't think I'll be going back to Circa for a concert again.

crowded, douchey, and plenty of odiferously offensive participants

This quite appropirately describes the evening. I thought the band was great, it was difficult to have a good time until I managed to carve some space for myself in a corner. I couldn't believe how many drunken idiots that would just pile into the crowd of people yelling at the top of their lungs "PUSH!" whenever their fwd progress was impeded. The girls were the worst offenders, elbows flying every which way, it was brutal. Their was a huge lineup to get upstairs, so no relief that way. Again once I found my little spot it was tolerable and I think I made the most of it. Cut Copy had great energy on stage and when they finished off with "Lights and Music" the place went off. They need a bigger and better venue next time. Circa is too narrow.

I went in with no expectations, never been to circa and had a great time!! I think our whole crew could vouch for this as well. Yeah it was packed but c'mon, its a sold out show for a cool band

I will say Matt and Kim stole the show though!!! Cut copy was great but it was Matt and Kim who got me on the dancefloor!!

I've been to many sold out shows before and they've never been like that. That had less to do with being sold-out and more to do with over-crowding. I'm sure there were a ton of people there who hadn't bought tickets and got in some other way.

I am glad I saw them at the Docks previously because I couldn't even find a spot to see the stage. I felt old the entire time and people's asses were on my ass the whole time. The saving grace of the evening was going down the street afterward and getting pulled pork poutine. They played a good show, from what I could hear, but I felt like a member of a stampede.

Do they still have those bottle service booths on the dancefloor downstairs? There is simply not enough damn space down there for that. It was so much better before they put those in.

agree 100%
(and I wasn't thrilled to discover the riser in the right-hand corner at FW for the same reason - more dancefloor please!)

no booths this time, thank god.

i was actually impressed at how quickly they were getting people into the venue, but not impressed at all by the experience once i got in.

i doubt they were over capacity, but since almost no one was in any of the side rooms, the main room was uncomfortably full, and i couldn't see shit.
i guess i could have been a dick and pushed my way to the front, but fuck that shit.

Matt & Kim were great though, and i managed to actually see bits of them from some spots on the third floor.
