Contests, surveys, etc......

I was just wondering if anyone has actually one a contest, if anyone has ever collected a prize, something substantual, not like a CD or anything small but like a car or a big wad or cash.

I see people filling out surveys and contests forms with personal info and they don't get anything and the company gets a free database of info.

That was my mind fart of the day.

forms like that are marketing genius.
here at Microsoft we had a promotion for people to sign up for a chance to win Office XP.
they then turned around and used all this information for our telemarketing.
