LOL, yeah okay go to bed old man and let the youngens take care of the dirty work!!

Okay, so I started the night off in section in 319 and then after a few Coldplay tracks and 3 tall beers, I had to take a leak and as I decided as I was taking a leak,I didn't want to go back because the vocals and the view was basically shit!

I then went down to the 100's section and as I was roaming in the hall to find an opening to go into one section, I noticed an usher an a few security guards were having trouble with a guy so I went behind security and the usher and I went in that section and from there, the night started to pick up. After about 4 songs and some snapshots, I then wanted to get a more central view of the stage so I moved again and this was when Chris Martin (during the encore) came out to the section I was in and he was finishing off the song "In My Place" and I was literally 2 feet away from him. I even took a pic so hopefully it comes out okay. That would be cool if I showed up on the DVD right beside him!!:D

As for RIchard Ashcroft, he came on at 7:55pm and laid out all of his hits which included "The Drugs Don't Work", "SOnnet", "Lucky Man", "Keys to the World" and ended his set with "Bittersweet Symphony." He played for just under an hour and I was quite impressed.

Overall, the Coldplay performance reminded me alot of when I went to go and check them out last August. They're getting better each time they land here.
In total, I took about 35 film shots so I'll post them up ASAP. I defenitely let my $60 go a long way. It was a great night! :)

i tooo was at the concert tonight, and will agree they get better at every performance. They def have more stage presence and audience interaction than they used to, it was alot of fun,

the girl i took was so hot and bothered when he took off his shirt , haha

but the best was when he was running to go to the back 100 level for his encore, he ran right thru the aisle we were in(left floor seats row 27) and girl i was with actually got hold of him and got a picture/video of it, was crazy!!!!!!!!!

i wish i had that phone call, as he sang into it
was pricless...

was good to hear the mix of songs!! old/new, and johnny fucking cash!!!!!

all in all i think they really do love toronto, they are the next gen rolling stones for sure... glad they chose us to do the dvd.

cant wait till next time

i tried for tomorrow night, but work got in the way

bought a shirt and poster, really wanted that coldplay jacket looked good

anyways

fucking rocked, i am totally satisfied, perfect night

cheers guys!!!

i too will post pictures, and videos once i can upload them

This was my 4th time seeing them, and probably my favourite.

For a band that has been on the road as long as they have been, I am amazed how tight and energetic they are every time out.

Now like kyfe said, two shows in 2 nights (and driving in from London for both), I am a dead man walking.

FYI ther cell phone thing was a setup, the camera man tossed the phone at Chris and he looked a little confused at first, it was a nice little touch though.

Did anyone see Natalie Portman? she was sitting near me and I felt really bad for her, Yeah I know she's a celeb and all but everyone in her section was gawking like she had a massive zit or something. BTW she is very very tiny, I'm talking at most 5,4.

The Johnny Cash tribute was great, A nice touch to a legend.

Ashcroft was excellent his story about the airport was hilarious, for those Verve fans such as I rumor has it Verve will be getting back together soon, either Simon or Pete was part of richards band as well. Hearing Verve songs for the first time live in 7 years was a great treat and reminded me why they are one of my favorite all time bands.

Yeah deep down I hoped I would hear A New Decade or Slide away, but realized quickly he was going to play a pretty mellow set. It was nice though.

Sounds like it was a great concert. I'm supposed to be going tonight.

Would you guys mind telling us losers sitting in section 318 whether they had a backdrop on stage or not? I think this will make a big difference with my view tonight.

Who knows, I might just have to pull a Resolver and make my way down to the 100's section myself.

Also, will Richard Ashcroft be performing tonight as well??

Cheers,

There are several back drops. They have a digital screen, and they have a big white sheet that they transmit visuals on to.

And yes, Richard Ashcroft is playing tonight

Ha! I was wondering why that seat next to us was empty!

Good concert, even if we were in the nosebleed section.

Very "wholesome" concert I thought....very white, mainstream crowd. Not really edgy in any way but what can you expect really...I loved the Johnny Cash cover...overall good performance, better than I thought based on other live performances I've heard on tv. He has a pretty engaging stage performance and it was a lot of fun.

LOL, well what time did you get there at? There was a seat empty on both sides of me so I asked the two girls to the right of me if they knew of an Allison and they didn't.

if anyone has a link or knows where to get the recording of the show please pm, or msg

cheers

I was going to record it but didn't bother with the hassle last minute. it's going to be a DVD anyway so wait a few mths and you should be able to get a copy.

Portman was to the left of the stage in the first few rows, I only saw her walk past me with a guy escorted by ACC security. She must be in town though so scour the city there may still be a chance

i was in left floor row 27 damit my spider sense never detected her, then again at 5'4 i guess in the dark you d have to know she was there first! damn!! fack mother-beech

oh well i will just have to hit up every single club in toronto every night while she is in town for 2 months filming so i can randomly meet her at a bar :p

...so they are performing at the junos, may give me an excuse to watch it this year and not catch the results online!!

Last night (23rd's) show was excellent. Much the same as mentioned above..... I really enjoy that they sound spot on to their recordings.

great concert, was really impressed with Richard Ashcroft and Coldplay. the lighting was very well done, all hits were played. You can tell that Coldplay really enjoy what they do...great interaction with the crowd. Seeing Chris Martin run all the way acroos the ACC to land in the 100 sections with the crowd to finish a song, shows quite a bit of appreciation for their fans.

quick fact......Chris Martin can run really fast.

agreed,

given the snarky comments Ashcroft was saying about the Verve... or as he called the band "McVerve"... during his set I don't think there's any reconciliation in the future... unless they're all really broke.

had a great time at the show. It was a thrill to see Richard Ashcroft and hear him play some classics... never thought I would hear those songs live again. his voice is so rich and stunning I could have listened to him forever.

Coldplay has really become a well oiled machine that will give all the top stadium bands a run for their money. Chris' voice was in good shape and their song selection was well paced. I really do appreciate how much they pay attention to the crowd. somehow I didn't feel as emotionally enthralled with the whole show as I was at coldplay concerts past but I still had an amazing night.

No more DVD for us Toronto fans :(

I just learned the bad news that fucken Coldplay pulled the plug on using Toronto for their DVD. It was supposed to be released this past autumn and I was wondering what the delay was. In fact, Muchmusic has already aired the Toronto performance for the second night (March 23) on December 14/15. Internationally they started airing this concert beginning on December 8th when Spain aired it first.

I'm really pissed about them not using Toronto for this DVD and have to sign that petition thread on their official website.

Anyway here are the download links for the TV broadcast directed by Hamish Hamilton (famous for U2 concert films and Victoria's Secret fashion shows). The files are RAR so you have to unzip using a software such as WinRAR etc. and it should join together automatically with this program.

1)http://www.sendspace.com/file/sbpums

2)http://www.sendspace.com/file/nim0c7

3)http://www.sendspace.com/file/gxzl51

4)http://www.sendspace.com/file/c3zv9x

5)http://www.sendspace.com/file/06g68k

Also, here's the link for the MP3 files to the full audio for the concert.

http://rapidshare.com/files/7113723/LIVE_IN_TORONTO.rar.html

BTW, I'm really happy that I was at the second night on the 23rd instead of the 22nd. At least my memories will be immortalized with this concert broadcast. However, as some fans from the Coldplay site mentioned some editing and cutting scenes were taken from Night 1. Apparently, their last song "Fix You" was in fact taken from March 22 instead.

Bahaha, maybe some of my friends are RIGHT. Coldplay's truly GAY and are for GAYS. I'm starting to agree ever since they slapped Toronto across the face by not using us for their DVD.

Enjoy this and have a blast remembering that fucken amazing night!!!

shit, didn't know they went against using the toronto show for the DVD - wonder why, it was pretty well done and looked like a good performance...

i drunkenly watched the MuchMusic broadcast the other night and was impressed. that fucking light show alone would have been worth the ticket price
