Our unsold chestnuts probably get exported to Switzerland. Geezus, they sure do love to eat chestnut vermicelli for dessert. First time I saw it I thought it was chocolate. Nope, definitely not.
When I visited New York City as a kid I remember there were huge numbers of old italian guys on the streets roasting them with their chestnut roasting carts.
This is a super yummy recipe (and yes, I love brussels sprouts although I don't like cabbage) and the sprouts can be easily swapped with broccoli with equally yummy results. Rumour has it that bacon has made an appearance in this dish too! Enjoy!
