So just went to order cheques through TD

    100 cheques $29.00
    Shipping and Handling $5.00
    GST $4.99

So $40.00 for 100 cheques or $4.00/cheque.... what the fuck???

Please someone tell me I am missing something and there is a less ass-rapish way to get a new book of cheques.

    WTF is a cheque?

    Also, that's $0.40 a cheque.

Yeah earlier this year I ran out of the book of cheques I'd had since 1995-ish. I believe at that time they cost me around 10$
    Ordered a new book of 100 cheques, 35$ +.
Suck it up, or just say fuck it, and use PayPal.

Well... I'm putting my daughter into dance and they require 10 post dated cheques.

I haven't rented in years but I presume Toronto landlords still require cheques no??

I still use cheques quite a bit, I'm old school. I'm sloooowwwly starting to move to paying bills/banking online. Only when I'm wearing my tinfoil hat though.

I ordered some through my account recently and they were free(RBC Signature no limit account). Went to use my debit card a couple weeks later and found that my account was in overdraft, which I didnt apply for. Turns out my cheques had been stolen in the mail and they had passed one through a TD ATM and cleared out my account into overdraft. They even misspelled my name in the signature and it still went through. Got the money back, but had to take time off work to get it sorted out.

My cheques are free with Scotia. Love my 'Value Account', though I hardly use most of the free services anymore. Might be time for a change.... after a new cheque order.

Royal Bank will give you 3 cheques for free if you ask.
but you'd have to go in 3+ seperate times if you needed 10 of them.
