you must work for the government too then...;)

I work in a casual office, during the week there are no suits and ties, but the guys usually sport some kind of dress pant and golf shirt/button up... There are only a couple of ladies, and we just usually wear nicer pants and a shirt or sweater... Jeans are acceptable when you have to make site visits...

Fridays - anything goes... I always have jeans, t-shirt and my pumas...
People can wear whatever they want here on Fridays, and its nice.

I dont think we need a dress code, because we dont seem to have a problem with how people dress... Mind you, I have yet to see pajamas!

since i do internal communications, from time to time i have to write and distribute missives like the infamous "What not to wear on Casual Fridays" ... well it wasn't called that but it should have been. Anyway, you like to think people have common sense about these things but obviously they do not, so we had to spell it out. There was mixed response to the communique ... the most vocal, negative response invariably came from people who don't like to be told that what they have been wearing is inappropriate. Truth hurts, people! Sorry, but you work for a bank! Suck it up and stop wearing jogging pants / revealing clothing / way too casual wear etc. to the office.

i think dress codes are often aimed at people with no common sense. that's what our office dress code is for. :) i don't want to militarize the work place or have uniforms or anything, but there are limits to which too many people seem to be oblivious.

i kinda lik getting dressed up in my "office clothes" for work ... the only thing is that now i have more work clothes than play clothes so when i want to get dressed up to go out i'm a little stuck. <mental note: go shopping for play clothes!>

edit: i also love work-at-home days when i get to stay in my pj's!

It looks like the general message/ consensus is 'please leave your lesuire wear at home with your pajamas and robes - lulu or not, hefty or small.'

The secret to casual friday is shoe picks.

I'm a professional (Whatever the hell that means..and no, not that..LOL) But I like the fact I can wear jeans and runners to work.. .No real dress code, just can't be slutty.. So much more relaxing.

Jeans and runners = not professional in my books.

Obviously not appropriate if you have contact with customers, business partners, or if there is an important meeting planned.

If you're an accountant auditing corporate financial statements and for most of the day your in a cubicle...who cares?

You'd be surprised . There are some professional positions which allow you that latitude.. I don't work in the 'business world' and definitely don't meet with clients.. Anyway, all I can say here, but I do enjoy the fact that I don't have to dress up. :)
