There is a 9 minute video on the internet called "rendezvous".

It is shot by an owner of a 1972 Ferrari, as the driver (obviously a Pro) races through the streets of Paris at over 200/hour. He runs ed lights, does the whole deal basically. Its hard as shit to find. Legend has it that he was arrested after showing it in public, and it went underground for 25 years. Its available somewhere (do a search for paris + claude on kazaa). If i find the link I'll post it.

I get off on this shit.

So Im making a dvd wth the best car sequences caught on film, and I need your help.

So far Im going to have:

ronin
rendezvous
getaway in stockholm (all versions)
transporter
star (bmw films - thats the only good one imho)
bullit
original and new italian job
french connection

any one else know which movies had amazing, pure, wicked, and genuine car chases or driving sequences?

Charlies Angels, when they take off in those Cart cars. I don't know if you're going for realistic or just fun?

You've pretty much got the best ones already tough!

my friends were in england and the one driving noticed a car in the rear view mirror approaching them fast as fuck..

they were on a pretty desolate strip of highway and this dood was probably doing 200 mp/h. he tried to meander around them and ended up losing control of the beamer he was driving and slammed straight into a wall. they are pretty sure he died instantly, but they didn't bother to stick around.

I remember seeing this film about 10 years ago. A friend worked for a film company and someone gave him a copy. I've wanted to see it again ever since.

If you find a link or a copy let me know.

I found a link to it on DVD:

Cheers ... Ian :)

I actually like Ambush from the first season more. A good part of it is because I know Frankenheimer shot the whole sequence at full speed. Although not a car-chase scene per se, Frankenheimer's Grand Prix was great too for car scenes in a movie. Le Mans is right up there too.

There's a store in Toronto that sells the Rendezvous DVD. Can't recall which one, but it was on the radio. Email John Derringer, at Q107, he was the one talking about it.

It was an F1 driver at 5:30 am.

The original Gone in 60 seconds has some good chases.
Running Scared had a good chase that ended up on the El.

He just passes the arc du triumphe.

If you look at the picture this is downtown Paris. He drives right through the centre of the city. Imagine someone driving this fast through downtown toronto.

I love this film, would love to see it in total again.

If anyone has it, I can host it.

Sub 8-minute!!!!

Amazing how he executes those slides at such high speed. The Ford GT commercial reminded me of that vid.

Why do the people who make movies like these insist on playing shitty music really loud.

I think the reason I love the paris film was the only sounds are the ones made by the car and the road.
