I think the Reform Party wing knows that if they move away from the social warrior bullshit that Polliviere is pushing, and Brown is moving away from, they'll actually have to govern and develop policy. Kenny is a great example of how that will turn out.

His lack of any kind of policy on climate change (a top 3 issue to voters) underlines this, as it killed O'Toole's chances of any kind of win.

How many leaders have they gone through in the last 7 years? And they still don't understand what they're doing wrong - just keep trying to please the Reform wing of the party.

Conservatives - en masse - have retreated from the green shoots that were showing 10 years ago and are just collectively up their own collective asshole on this one so hard lately: all policy in favour of climate change action is a corrupt cash grab or a fool's fancy - they *cosntantly* bring up "greta" and wanna pin you down on what your take on her is (trying to suss out if you're a cucked liberal who drinks the climate kool-aid) because saying you support greta = you agree 100% with everything she's ever said including the greta meme BS they been reading all night before they started talking your ear off at the party.

But take a step back from the way they turned it into yet another item of culture war BS and collective lie they all must adhere too for the sake of the tribe/identity politics: in effect they are making a huuuuuuuge bet.

This bet is that the status quo fossil fuel exploration, development, sale and use of fossil fuels can continue unfettered and in a linearly-constantly-growing fashion without consequence.

There's no humility or thinking about whether they might be wrong, or any attempt to consider the costs if it turns out that way. If they COULD do that - they'd recognize smart conservative policy basically means hedging against that bet with some prudent measures to reduce fossil fuel consumption!

And dont get me started how the virtue signalers extraordinaire about the fucking DEBT won't be able to grok the concept of "carbon debt" - but if everything they scream about the debt is true morally - then it all fucking applies to the carbon debt we pass on to our kids too!
