A very good friend is in the process of buying a new camera.

This is the camera she has in mind

http://www.dcviews.com/reviews/Olympus-C5060/Olympus-C-5060-review.htm

I was wondering if anyone owns this camera and or has any feedback on it.

or

Would you suggest something different?

Some things she is looking for are

RAW capabilities
Manual Capabilities
28mm equivalent lens

Looking to spend around 5-600 dollars.

I am camera cluless so I hope this makes sense.

Digital SLRs are the bizz-nizz....

Olympia is a good brand.....(as far as it's a brand name)

It all depends what the person wants it for.......That camera is a little too big for me......

AFAIK the resource for info on digital cameras is:

http://dpreview.com

Check it...

It's amazing how similar those two sites are in appearence. I know the latter has been around longer and is better respected in the business.

I'm not up-to-date on pricing but I don't think you can get a new DSLR for $500-600, unless its been used. However, you'll get the most manual features out of a DSLR if you know what you're doing.

Olympus (not Olympia) is a good brand with excellent lenses. Personally I'm more used to Nikon cameras, but I have bought Olympus in the past.

I like the deep aperature of that Olympus at 2.8. Keep in mind that camera was released in 2003
