So the plan for last night was to meet up with a few friends and head down to system for Tilt at about 1am. Since the theme of the party was "shades of blue", I said what the fuck and dressed in all blue because as most of you know, wearing all blue was supposed to get you in for $10 instead of the regular $20 cover.
I double checked the flyer for the party to make sure that there was no time limit (i.e. before 12) or any other rules to follow, and there weren't. So I show up there right at about 1am, absolutely no line-up at all outside so things are looking good. So I get checked, head over to the counter to pay and am immediately greeted with a big $25 cover sign. So we ask what's up with the cover, and they tell us that the "all blue" discount ended at 12, and regular cover is now $25.
I couldn't fucking believe it, I know that Breathe is sometimes flakey when it comes to sticking to the cover prices/times listed on their flyers, but this was just pushing it too far. So we said fuck it and left. Not because of the money, I could care less about spending $25 for a party, I just dropped $70 for tickets to bal en blanc. But to so blatantly lie to your customers is ridiculous, and honestly I've had enough of their shite.
You advertise telling people to wear blue for the party so they can get a discount. Then when the people show up there's no discount? What the fuck is that? It's one of the most dishonest things I've encountered in the whole club/party scene.
At first I thought they probably didn't draw a very big crowd, considering that there was no line-up at 1am and that it was going up against the nokia party, and that was why they raised the price. But from what I've heard that wasn't the case at all, the club was pretty much packed. So they have absolutely no excuse for the shite they pulled, except to line their own pockets.
I know there are quite a few people on this board that have connections to Breathe/System, and you'll probably be jumping to defend them. But you can't deny that what they did was absolutely, totally dishonest, and that they should treat their clientele with more respect.
It's going to be along time before I hand over my cash to Breathe/System again.
