Breakfast boredom woes.

Is anybody else bored with breakfast as a meal? I think my sleeping patterns are messing with my appetite but I have no enthusiasm for my breakfast meal when I used to wake up hungry as a bear after hibernation.

What do you do to stimulate morning appetite?

Also, what kinds of foods do you eat Im tired of over-sugared cereal + milk and toast with something on it. A good cereal I can recommend is PC ncient Grains cereal, it's crunchy, tasty, and has very little sugar, I like to eat it plain.

i usually have half a toasted whole grain whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and an apple.

and lady grey tea. (or a white mochaccino on latte day, which is friday. i wish it was latte day today. :( )

cereal is gross.

Todays breakfast: Figs, honey, & ricotta with toast.

Used to never eat until lunch but recently have been enjoying rolling out of bed to some fresh fruit, oatmeal, or ocasionally a fry-up. I know it sounds like something off of a cereal box, but it really does help you through your day.

Muesli is good too. Wish my nut allergy didn't get in the way of eating it :(

i try to find new things to eat now and then.

recentl, i discover pita muesli bread. it's made by Mr. Pita (or something) and you can find it at most nicer grocery stores, in it's own stand in the bread section. it's all natural, no preservatives, has raisins and fruits in it, and is just a little smaller than a personal sized pizza. so yummi! i toast them and eat it with some cream cheese. they are delicious. you should try them!

also, i bought some Special K Red Berries. but tried it for the first time after i had already brushed my teeth, so i can't comment just yet. :)

I'm a cereal guy. Usually just plain, nothing sweet cereal (special K, Cheerios, Rice Crispies), but if it's my birthday I get Cap'n Crunch. When I have time, I'm a breakfast specialist. Unfortunately I never have time anymore in this crazy workaday world

Protein Shake - Made with Fresh Strawberries, Banana, Soy Milk & Whey Protein ;)
Vector Cereal
Yogurt
Bagel & Cheese

That's what I usually select from ;)

Remember kids, breakfast is the most important meal :p

A two egg omelette with cheddar cheese and some sauteed sliced mushrooms, alongside toast, bacon, OJ and the optional yogurt or cottage cheese never has turned me away.

My favourite breaky is vector cereal with vanilla yogurt with raspberries or peaches on top. I also like belgian waffles with whip cream and strawbabies, but only once in awhile.

I discovered those through Grocery Gateway...haven't had the apple ones yet, but the ones with the raisins are very tasty...I have them with peanut butter and honey.

Most of the time I like "sweet" in the morning...this morning it was Multigrain Cheerios with peaches on top. I also like toast with jam, and hot cereals. If I'm not very hungry I'll have some yogurt and a piece of fruit. When I want something savoury I have a bagel with smoked salmon or veggie cream cheese...or plain cream cheese with some cucumber and tomato on top. Or sometimes leftover dinner, like spaghetti or pizza. Don't have time for eggs usually...I have those for dinner sometimes or on the weekends.

Rob, do you exercise in the morning? Maybe that would help to make you hungry. But don't force yourself if you're not.

According to the site, Pita Break Breakfast Muesli Pitas. I think I might try the apple ones and put jam on them. They're filling without being really heavy.

Sunshine Salad

Ingredients:
1/2 sliced peach (canned) + 1/2 tsp syrup
1/2 sliced banana
1 clementine
pineapple tidbits (canned) + 1/2 tsp juice
orange juice
1/2 tsp lime juice
1/2 tsp brown sugar

mix together all the fruit..pour the juices etc. on top. sprinkle with brown sugar

it takes 5 minutes to put together

but if you dont want fruit/sugar or anything then i guess it would be bleh

i have an obsession with toasted malt bread w/ margerine..(or toasted rye)
malt bread is good because toasted it gets this really neato texture to it..crispycrunchy only still kind of spongy and good
ohh i want some right now
dempster's used to make a really good one (purple bag..dark loaf thing with lines in it) - but i havent found it in a while. they used to make it exclusively for southern ontario..i hope they havent discontinued it.

TAKE THAT BACK

cereal is the best food EVER!

my favourite is cheerios. i also like miniwheats, life, cheerios, honeynut cornflakes, shreddies, cheerios, oatmeal, just right, cheerios, cream of wheat....

did I mention CHEERIOS. I frickin love those things.

I could never get bored of cereal.

I also like toast. but good homemade toast or bagels or those mueseli things mentioned above, not stupid wonder toast. i also like cinnamon buns. and muffins.

I enjoy most breakfast foods - eggs, omelets, pancakes, frenchtoast. I just learned to make crepes.

I would have to say that breakfast is usually my favourite meal. specially on weekends when you can drag it out and sit in your jammies with tea and cinnamon buns and read the paper.

It's part of a vicious cycle, bad sleeping patterns => no appetite in the morning => no energy to go to work (let alone excercise) => no energy to work out in morning or after work = repeat

I'm in the process of getting back to the gym. I think it all starts with proper sleep.

Yummm :) Very inspiring breakfast kat :)

On the subject of bread. I haven't bought white sliced bread in months and months. I like the multigrain breads, 12 grain from Dempsters or one of the other bakeries. It lasts longer than white bread and is tastier and more interesting :)
