Popped up from the office to Best Buy at Dundas & Bay b/c they advertised both the Visio M-C2 & the Sony W800 at 55". As it turned out, no they didn't have the Visio on display. But that W800 looked sick...

I tend to agree praktik.
Remember the days of dial-up and cringing at the thought of downloading MP3s? Along came DSL & cable modems and that helped immensely with Napster! lol

umm no, no I don't. You were downloading mp3's on dialup? My mind is blown. How long did it take to get a single mp3 for the love of fuck? I gave up trying to even surf the net cause it would take minutes for a single web page to download.

I didn't even know mp3's existed until I was on high speed in 97. It was more difficult as I would get em off irc, but I'd have like 5 going at once and it would only take a couple minutes for each song.

hmm, yes I recall when I was on modem dialup I was using Limewire. It took hours to get one single mp3.

But weird, I had this conversation the other day. The more time-consuming and difficult it is to achieve some task/get something done, the more it feels like you put in a *hard days work* and *earned it*, when in fact if you have better hi-speed tools and are smart at multitasking you can achieve the same results in a miniscule fraction of the time, and it doesn't even feel like *work*/effort.

It's some sort of psychological *optics* there. Perception.

Ordered the m series C2 through Costco. If it goes well, great. If it fails to match expectations during the initial 90 days, I'll return it and try the Sony 800c

^^ most Sony TV's have been pretty great last few years - typically great for vids too...

Yep the Sony is judder free in all 5 categories, the vizio's are judder free too, but show a bit more motion blur than the Sony while watching sports. Samsungs are good for motion blur but weren't judder free like the Sony...so in the middle I chose the Sony ,gave me best of both worlds + 3D if I want to go that route
