am i the only person so utterly, COMPLETELY sick of all these fucking lame, poorly produced bootlegs?
I mean, don't get me wrong, there're plenty o' good booties out there, of which i have quite a few, but lately we've been flooded with so many bootlegs that are pure shit
the sad thing is that for these records to be released so often, and often in such large quantities, the records must be getting a reasonable amount of support..
as an example of this bootleg shoddiness, we'll use the last record i heard, therefore the one foremost on my mind, but by no means the worst i've heard recently; 'busted rhymes' by the X-Men. pretty good beat, although we all know how much work goes into creating a beat, altogether annoying, incredibly simple bassline (which are all too prevalent in breaks today, not that simple is bad, 'cause i like simple, but ineffectively simple is bad), and a fucking rediculously sped up busta doin' got you all in check
another one is 'kiss my ass' by Mr Potatohead, which i just had the pleasure of previewing courtesy of release records(no slight intended to this fine shop and it's employees
). where to start on this one... hmmm... where to start... oh yeah, IT USES A FUCKING PINK VOCAL.... PINK!?!¿! are you fucking kidding me!? i mean, why add the vocals¿ ruins a perfectly good beat.
i know, i know, would i like some cheeeaz with my whine... some would say, "if you don't like them, just don't listen to them", but come on.. when browsing through records, i'm not particularily picky with regards to names, 'cause usually it's the one's you've never heard of that end up being the gems.. therefore i have to waste my time and ear drums on this crap.
...but i don't even really think that's what irks me about these records, 'cause i always end up listening to plenty o' shitty non-booties as well, and really, it doesn't take THAT long to preview a record, so i'll not dwell on that point any longer, lest i look like a bratty bastard.
i think maybe it's the fact that there are plenty of good, currently unknow producers just itchin' to get a record out there, but they just don't have the connections/resources available to do so, then there're these amazing, proven producers, with the resources required, yet for some reason they've gotten lazy and have decided to create this absolute shat..
please stop supporting this stuff; i've got no problems with the bootlegs, but when 9 times out of 10 it sounds like something i could create in 5 minutes with a shoddy loop based production program, there's something terribly wrong.
done my rant.
