Books on gear

    I'm looking for a good book on learning the ins and outs of production gear... im sure there are lots.. but, any suggestions as to where I should start?

    Manuals of the gear that you have, they should cover everything that your gear can do. Other than that, books on audio engineering would be helpful. I find most of the books are outdated to my needs, so I usually read all the articles in production magazines like Sound on Sound, Home Recording, Keyboard, Future Music, Computer Music, and Electronic Musician.
