I have not been to a party in a really long time and this party just kicked my ass. So after months of only working and sleeping i finally come out of my cave to seen it up.

Despite the fact that Knowledge and Wisdom did not play ( i don't know why though some technical difficulties. ) this party was hype. As always our locals threw it down have to give mad respect to the one like Trek-E who came through and delivered when Knowledge and Wisdom weny stage then just left. As always nothing less expected from the one like Marcus tearing up the dance floor.

Ghetto Concept i was not expecting much but they put on a good show. Though i am not a fan of Hip Hop at parties but thats just me i saw a lot of hip hop heads loving the set.

The Docks was not too packed either i guess that is good for us but i am not sure if Big Bud got the crowd they wanted.

I think i will find myself back in Toronto hitting up the parties and this party with definitly go down in the books for me...

The night started off a little slow for me. The turntablism set was a little tiring. I think they were trying to kill time...I think some weird shit was going on behind the decks, some interesting drama, perhaps.

Anyone know what the story is with Demolition Man, and the MC who got cut off?

The space was excellent. Not too crowded, lots of room to walk around. The party heated up for me when Marcus hit the tables. From then on, it was all good vibez.

Over all, not an earth-shattering night. But I had a fun time.

Kind of a dissapointing evening for me...
First of all doors at 9pm really meant doors at 10:30ish. That was fun. Secondly, the info line said that the first 500 people paying at the doors would pay advance price, which was $25. But of course the charged $35. Redlion played a nice opening set, then the turntablism started, and I went and hid out in the licenced area. Well done to Big Bud for sorting that out this time, as the last event was a disaster. Very smart turning the hardcore room into the 19+ area until 2am, kudos for that.
The beats in there were aight, some decent house and breaks.

Trek E span a nice set with some decent tunes in there. The Mc's he had goin' didn't do much for me really.

I actually got bored though as the crowd didn't seem too down, and the vibe just wasn't there. I ended up splitting around 3am. Overall just not enough energy to keep me interested. Maybe just me though?

Shouts out to Kate from Markham if she reads this. Nice to meet you last nite.

I read on Toronto Jungle that they could not pay them and just as Demolition Man was going to explain it to the crowd they cut his mic. A lot of drama there, i am not totally sure but what else could it have really been cause the whole K&W crew was there.

What can you do though...

Confirmed by Dyer MC. They didn't get paid. That was the reason for them not performing. And what you could do is pay them.

Nevertheless, The Knowledge & Wisdom Crew will be performing tonight at Audiowerks. Last minute event by Ganja Smile + Tune Inc. Cheap entry ($5 i think) and bar is open. 19+ only though.

I had fun.

I'm never ever going to a party 100% sober again, because I forgot that the pain of dancing all night sober was a sore back and legs the next day.

I think I left the Trance/Techno/House room for all of 10 minutes, and that was to try and drink before last call. Damn getting there too late.

Met a few tribers, that was fun.
Corey made fun of me for wearing a Tribe teeshirt

I don't think so you make what you want of any party. Yeah a lot of shit happened but Trek-E played amazing for being shoved bakc on the decks and Marcus well nothing much you have to say about that.

Say what you want it was fun...

***taken from www.torontoraves.com***

(this is copied and pasted from T-Jungle.com)

I have been asked by Terry T and the rest of Knowledge and Wisdom to display the following statement to Toronto jungle community.

*** “We apologize to the many fans that attended “More Fiya” last night that we were unable to perform. This was not possible due to the failure of the promoters to meet their financial obligations to us. We flew to Canada and booked our hotel rooms at our own expense, with the understanding that we would be reimbursed. This has cost us over 3000 pound Stirling so far, and is climbing. It was also agreed that Knowledge and Wisdom would receive a percentage of the profits from the event.
*** We were informed upon arrival to Canada that ticket sales were lower then expected, but that 800 tickets had been purchased. We agreed to continue to pay our own way until the night of the performance, with the agreement of both promoters that we would receive full reimbursement of our costs. When we arrived at the venue last night we asked that our costs be returned at that time, and our salary to be paid later in the night. This request was refused and we were informed that our costs might not be returned to us. This was over and above any salary we were to be paid for our performance at the rave. Things became somewhat heated and we were asked to wait outside the venue. When we were finally allowed to speak to the promoter he was surrounded by police and security people and nothing was resolved. As of 9 pm today I have yet to hear from the owners or anyone affiliated with Big Bud, and we have yet to receive any money from them.
*** The decision to not play was based purely on these actions by the management of Big Bud. This is not a reflection of our feelings for Toronto or our fans. We hope some of the people that were disappointed last night will attend the Ganja Smile event at Audiowerks tonight. Hopefully in the New Year we can come back to Canada make up for this unfortunate occurrence. We love playing here, and always look forward to returning. Unfortunately disorganization and failure to meet obligations prevented what should have been an excellent night from occurring. It was not our intention to disappoint the crowd last night, but with the actions of the promoter we did not feel that we able to perform as scheduled. “***

I might also add that several DJs didn't bother to show because of the financial contractions the promoters made.

Rowland The Bastard also had his troubles. It took a lot of arm twisting and cursing and swearing before he got fully reimbursed for the money he'd fronted for his hotel and his cab ride to the hotel from the airport. No arrangements were even made for him to get him back to the airport and I actually had to drive him back.

This behaviour on the behalf of the promoters is completely unacceptable! You should always have your artists costs covered - especially the ones you fly over from other countries.

As a result of this poor planning, many of the DJs failed to play or show because the promoters couldn't meet their commitments.

I'm sorry but if you're going to throw at party you need to have all of the money to pay the performers up front. This is common sense. I've heard stories about big bud doing shit like that in the past.

^ ^ ^ Agreed. Not only is it awful for the Canadian talent to have to argue with the promoters about getting their money, but when you fly 8 hours over seas and plan on staying here a couple of days?

Well for the time i was there i had fun. Got there early did the line by pass thing and starit to the bar...I haven't been to the t-d0t in a while and wasnt expecting the 6$ drinks, but they had a ATM so i got my drink on. the vibe was chillin, until the turntablists got on, and things just didnt seem right. i mean the energy levels just dropped. but things did pick up. I must say when pulled off the dance floor by security for (insert reason here) i got the most thurough search eva...well mayb not eva, but still...this man went through everything, even made me roll down my pant legs...hrm...any who, after forgeting about this lil bottle of jack daniels i had in my pocket, and convincling telling the security guy that had i remembered it was in my pocket that i would have drinkin the fukin thing he told me that since i co-opeated, i could stay...thank you kind sir...and i was back to the dance floor...
so i got tired once Ghetto Concept reached the stage and decided to call it a night.

all in all, i had a good time, and it is really to bad to hear a bunch of DJs didnt get paid, my friend being one of them...he had to stay till 5am not knowing he wouldnt get paid, plus they didnt tell him when he was going on, so he was there from 10-5 and still didnt get paid...thats bad new man, bad fukin news...

cheers,

z0-

Well, this party falls second on my list of accomplishments for last night my day off....
The first being the KILLER GAetano Parisio party at Turbo earlier inthe evening....
Anyways, back to big bud. This was by far the weakest party they have thrown in a LOOOOONG time..
Luckily I got there just in the nick of time to hear ROWLAND the BASTARD ( phew ). And he played a wicked Long set that had me headbangin' and groovin' all over that second room. I was pleased to see soo many of my friends there as well...
MOSES, ALEX ( and her 2 friends from Fairview ), LYLE, NADIA, TOYS, YOKO, KAMIKAZE, CANDY TWINS, OYSTRIXXX, DSP, SPARKLES CREW, ALEX D., and too many more to name...really !!
Soo right when we think that all this hard beat heaven is about to stop cause OS/2 is due to spin....KAMIKAZE hops back on the tables and rips out some killer techno tracks mixed with some funky booty. Really good stuff...!!! Then we snuck out back to drink some beers and smoke some weed...when we got back another friend that I haven't seen in a while was spinning..DRAG'N FLY...He played some of the hardest tracid trance I heard all night and it was SWEET !! Really good set and really goood energy this guy brings to the party. I'd have to say this party was NOT crowded at all mostly because those losers from UK got up and said all kinds of shit about leaving and not getting paid so I think alot of people left...It's too bad cause I'm told those guys ended up playing anyways. Anyways, hopefully BIG BUD takes this as a learning experience and maybe puts a bit more thought into the party next time....Paying your dj's helps too...I know Rowland and Kamikaze were pissed and I'm sure the other dj's were pissed too...That's the kind of shit you'd expet from F3 or SUNSHINE...not BIG BUD.
PS - that girl from Ghetto Concept should be shot !!! Learn to MC before you get on the Mic...
PEACE
