Man, so many solid releases this year... but if I had to pick one which stands out from the rest, I'd have to say...

B.L.I.M. vs Chris Carter "Check it out" (Track)

How bout everyone else?

Hmmm tough to narrow it down to just one track, but pretty much all of the stuff by B.L.I.M. this year has been outstanding. The Turquoise remix, Monkfish and the Check it Out track stand out especially.

Blim is kicking major ass....that is true.

Have you heard "Blame - Music Takes You (B.L.I.M. Mix)" yet?

Oh lord! It blew me away!

Only shitty thing is you have to buy it as a 2 record set with a bunch of badly produced DnB....it's the only good mix on there.

Which sux.

FYI, usually when people ask for best tunes of the year, they want tunes that were released in that year. Otherwise this becomes a 'hey, look at all the promo's and plates I got' competition.

Unreleased tunes:
Illfingas - Whitney Dub - White (Never Coming Out)
Koma & Bones - Morpheus Remixes- TCR (January 2002)
ILS - Next Level - Marinde Parade (although it did get released under another name on the 'On Tour' album) (January 2002)

If you want to chart unreleased tunes, that's a different story...

It's actually by T-Boy, with remix by Terminalhead.... Simply an awesome tune...

Mine would be:

Unknown - 20k Freaks (Jackal & Hyde Remix) off of Florida Electro Artists vol. II (Frajile)

Very nice.

Different Gear mixes (which is progressive house) of Puretone's 'Addicted to Bass' came out on white a couple weeks ago with a very limited pressing (500 copies)... they went like wild-fire. There is also a John Creamer and Stephane K mix which will probably be on the A-Side if the Hyper & Rhymes mix (if the Hyper & Rhymes mix is actually released). Full release for both 12 inches is coming in a month and a half...

In the meantime, you can check the Hyper & Rhymes mix of 'Addicted to Bass' on DJ Hyper's Bedrock Breaks double CD, with release coming this week! If you only buy one CD this year, make sure it's this one... it gets the Madhatter Seal of Approval 10 times over...

It's DJ Factor-E.

He couldn't afford to pay Jackal and Hyde to remix his original, so he didn't get credit when it was featured on Icey's new mixtape.

(at least that's what his official statement was)

That was never my intention.. I DO get promos way in advance so I never pay attention to actual streetdates and such (I didn't know this board was so technical

). I was simply listing the tunes that I dig.

I apologize if I offended anyone

Well, there's no rules to this at all, but when I started the thread, I was thinking more along the lines of which tunes had rocked the dancefloors consistently in Toronto over the last year, rather than lising off all the promos that you got last week (which would be more like a current top ten or something of the sort). But I would definitely agree about the Ils track. Can't wait for the release!!! BTW, it's the first track on Hyper's Bedrock Breaks

Yeah, I spotted those remixes on promos, surprised that Hyper & Rhymes remixes were not on them. That got me a little worried there..haha
Both Different Gear and JC & SK's doesn't do much for me. Hyper & Rhymes's remix on the hand kicks ass.

In regards to promos listed on this thread, I just so happened to pick up Morpheus remixes at Metropolis a while back, didn't know it was due for official release in Jan 2002. Oh well... it is just a thread... on a msg brd.

There's another thing that annoys me. Retailers that sell stuff they got for free. Nothing like 100% profit? Eh, boys? Another topic for another time...
