Berhouz /John Creamer reviews?

as usual, Mark Scaife played an amazing set. Lots of melodies and vocals. For the most part I thought John Creamer played a pretty good set also. However, everytime he built up his set he would just bring it back down to a boring state, and then it would be stagnent for while. All in all it was a pretty good night

Mmmmm dark, tribally housey goodness.

I actually really enjoyed his set. I wasn't really sure what to expect from the man aside from hearing his KISS fm set on diggers show.

I think his set just fit my mood fantastically last night. Heard a ton of stuff that my ears have never been witness to, and I think I was just truly in the mood for some dark pounding stuff which he delivered so nicely indeed.

I also had a chance to talk to him after his set, he was very approachable and answered all of my annoying questions with a smile. I would most definetly see him again if he comes back to town.

As for Berhouz, unfortunetly I only heard about 45 minutes of his stuff so I can't really make much of a statement about it, but what tracks I did hear were pretty fine and his mixing seemed spot on.

i thought mark scaife played a really nice set.. harder than i've heard him in awhile... and frankly.. one of the best that i've heard in awhile.. (harder is better)

had a great night.. although it ended on a sad note for a friend.. but still.. it was a very enjoyable evening...

Cheers!

creamer = bo to the ring. i'm sorry, i just didn't get into it much. he'd bring it up to a level where you're anticipating it's just about to get good, then just take it back down. no pace at all to the set, he seriously needed to step it up a notch. met him beforehand though, really nice guy. of course thanks to hye he thinks i'm his no. 1 fan, which she didn't tell me until AFTER i talked to him.

great to see everyone out (too many to name, as usual), hope you had a good birthday party chris! was great to finally meet janiecakes, we have to go get japanese food sometime!

ack, forgot, mark scaife's set was sooooo good though. he keeps playing harder and harder, i love it! i forced myself not to dance at the beginning, cause it was too early and i wanted to "save myself", what a mistake, his was the only music that got me really moving all night.

can't wait to see him next week (i think it's residents night?) throw it down proper along with che in the back room!

Scaife's set was fantastic. I noticed his set was a bit more melodic than usual, not what I expected but still good. I've been wanting to hear some really dark beats lately and I got what I came for with Creamer's set. My dancing was restricted to a monotonous shuffle for the most part though, so it was music more for my ears than for my feet.

Scaife - Great warm up set, one of the better sets i've heard from him in a while.

Creamer - Overall a good set, but it could have been better... but I came expecting deep, dark progressive from him, and thats what I got, so I was not dissapointed at all... and he kept me dancing for most of the night, so mission accomplished...

Vinder, you closet Techno-snob, go take your "boring" talk to the techno forumn

maybe if i had smoked a big fat one i might've found it interesting too

but seriously, it was good chilling or driving music, not good dancing music. i think tranner said it best, good music for my ears, not my feet.

Overall a wicked night. The music was good, but the company was better. I love my freinds.
Mark started off slow and melodic which was ok, but got darker and harder towards the end. Creamer was actually pretty good. I wasn't expecting much from him so I was pleasantly surprised. Behrouz is just like I remembered him back in July. Too many build-ups, so I really couldn't get into his set. Stayed for a 45 mins into his set then left.
Like I said, what really made my night is that I was with the people I love, and as long as I'm with them, I'll always have a good time.
Special shout out to Michelle. I can't believe you remember that we met at Danny Howells. That was a month ago. Hopefully I'll see you again the next time I go to system.
