We just had a new Bell phone line installed this month, and have been getting about 5-10 calls from a fax machine a day. Frustrating.

Anyway, call Bell to try and come up with a solution. Their CSR did nothing but try and upsell their feature products: caller ID, *69, and others that would not solve the problem. I was pissed!

I had this same problem when I moved to Mississauga. I ordered a new line, and as soon as I got it, I got about 5-10 fax calls a day.

So I called Bell, and got a similar reponse as you mentioned. They added that I could sign up for a call block service or something.

I asked them to change my number to a new one. They said they would do it free of charge. They changed the number, but my next bill had the $55 fee that they normally charge (although I managed to get them to drop the charge eventually).

So did that solve my problem? NO! My new line gets the exact same amount of fax calls everyday. So I've given up. I just turn the ringer off as I only use it for outgoing calls anyways.

Cheers ... Ian

pete i think that bell analyzing your bill is the last of your worries. i'm sure they sell info about your age, drivers license, where you call, when you call, where you live and so forth. if we only knew how much people know about us in the world. i'm almost considering never using interact again. that's the worst thing for stats.

Then they must think that I'm an alcoholic. 2+ trips to the LCBO every weekend, and it's the only place I use it.

I've all but given up on interac and pay in cash whenever possible.

But lets get back to the real tragedy here people:

Infected Mushroom was in this continent and I missed them!!!

Booourns to that. A whole freaking chorus of booourns to that.
