Not too mention that I'm writing a HUGE essay right now. My brain hurts, I can't think.

sounds like he is giving you good advice.
anti biotics kill your immune system, and unfortunately most doctors hand them out like pez dispensers.
i honestly can't believe that he didn't give them to you. I could go into my doctor for a broken thumbnail and he'd write me up for some penicilin.

^^^^ That's right in the long run antibiotics can actually do more harm than good. The over use and abuse of such drugs by Doctors on their patients is the leading cause of the prevalence of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria or "superbugs". And by waiting it out you are actually strengthening your immune system by teaching it how to effectively fight off infection. Your doctor did good.

I went in to a walk-in clinic last year for the sole purpose of getting a sick note that I had the flu. (it was at a time when we had to prove any sick days).
Sure enough, they tried to prescribe me anti-biotics too. It's the flu people... not the plague.

Yeah a lot of doctors use them when they shouldn't like "just in case" and some even use them as diagnostic tools.."this is for X disease take this and if you ge tbetter then yes you had X disease". It's so wrong.
And Pete that doctor you went to at the clinic is an idiot. The flu is viral and antibiotics only work on bacerial infections...two totally different things. he/she should be fired!
What I have found is that many doctors out there don't give a fuck. They have no compasion and have a terrible bedside manner. Many of them became doctors because the could become doctors (had the grades, money and discipline) but there are a few out there that actually care. It's like U of T's School of Medicine's slogan - give us a good student and we'll make them a good doctor...it doesn't work that way. I find that those "good" students are self serving fucktards that don't know shit about caring for people. But enough about this...this subject makes me so angry!

I've been having stomache pains for over 3 months now... been to the Doctor who basically told me it's because of too much alcohol and smoking... which I don't believe because I don't drink or smoke that much...
