One sick ass dj!
He was bringing is tracks sometimes for only 30 seconds then back out into another track. Some made house - tech/house - techno - then back to house.

For once, I'm not going to bitch.
I had a fantastic time last night. It was a combination of the wonderful people, the cheap drinks and the wicked set by Mr. Weaver.
The music was not too bad for what it was. I think it was harder than usual so it got my booty shaking even at coatcheck when I was leaving. The fact that the backroom breaks wasn't open didn't even bother me like it did at Cass. Mr. Weaver knows how to work a crowd and the beats were generally pleasing to me.
I also found the crowd much more diverse than I've ever seen at Tonic.
One of the funnest FTWK events so far.

Decent opening set by Ruby Jay? Is Ruby Jay a tag team?
There was a definite style difference between the two guys.
The shorter guy with the dark shirt seemed to bring it up a notch but the track selection at times seemed a little wonky. Still good though.
Weaver was very good but not as good as I have seen him. His mixing skills are incredible, weaving tracks in and out every minute or so at times without breaking a sweat. That Erotic City mix he played was pretty cool and what was with the freestyle at around 2:30? I didn't hear any breaks but I had to jet at around 2:45.
The crowd got pretty thin around 2 which seems normal for Tonic everytime I have been there. Tonic needs to do something with the sound - its landfill. No crispness, all bass. It sounds louder by the couches near the door than on the dancefloor. I can pound it louder in my living room.
It was good to meet Malglo and Suke.
Very tired today, work is going to be no fun.

Last night was a blast! Barry Weaver played a much harder (machinegun funk, as defined by Suke) set at Element - but last night's set still kicked my ass! Mr. Weaver played house the way I like it.
Haven't had this much fun out on a weeknight in a while. So much so that my body is paying for it today.
A very special early Birthday Greeting to one of the bestest friends one can ever ask for - PUKEandDRINKsteady ChRoMe. Happy 24th baby! MARCH MADNESS in every way! I can't remember the last time the crew represented on a weeknight. And props to my roommie Michy --- for sticking it out until 2:30am considering she had to be at work at 8am. (i know you're lurking)

First off, I'd like to apologize for puking on MoFo, Vinder, PinkAngel, and whom ever caught that spray. I have never been so embarassed. I am truly and deeply sorry for being an ass clown last night.

I had a blast...never seen Barry before, but was duly impresed. Ruby/Jay played a decent opening set also. LOVED that 'Lizard-i want money' remix, anyone know who it is? Great to see so many TBK and especially SUKE, as I haven't seen mr. 'three the hard way' in a while. Great to do the nostalgia/dj/music gear talk thing with you, Steve M!

Barry Weaver... i didn't know what to expect..i'd never heard him before.. I love DJ Dan.. and all i've heard is he can school dj dan.. so i was expecting a hard funky house...
I don't know exactly WHAT he played but it sounded good.. he really had me in the beginnin of his set.. lost me for a bit on a lapse.. grabbed me back.. lost me (we decided to go home then.. at like 2;30ish or something) then as i'm puttin my sweater on he goes back to some hard stuff again... dancin again
anyways.. as for the ass grabbing and basic daveness that was occuring in between my dancin.. hehe whoooops
was great to see you guys all again.. I enjoyed chillin at heathers before hand for some drinks... rich -- it was really good to chat with you there for a bit.. we don't get to actually talk to often...

well, as usual I was there for the festivities. I must say that Barry Weaver was really, really good. For those of you who stayed right 'till the end, his last 45 minutes to an hour were friggin' off tha hook. I felt like I was in a time warp back at the Factory.
It was also nice to finally meet some TBK. Jay a.k.a Futronic and I were chillin' in the booth being hammered track after track by Weaver, I also met dimpy (who came to say hi to me), vinder, Par-T (Tom right?) and PinkAngel. I know there were more in attendance but this is who I got to meet last night.

anyways, ruby jay opened up nicely, i even enjoyed the couple gay circuit house tracks he dropped.

barry weaver defines the ultimate in electronic music for me. i dunno what it is, funky techno, hard funky house, WHATEVER, it's the SHIT! absolute pure shake my ass until my legs turn to jell0 sweetness. loved every second of it.
and lets not forget the fact that tribe people took up a good chunk of the real estate last night, my word. so many smiling people, just made the night even that much better. great to see everyone out in attendance, you guys made the night that much better.

It was great to see everyone out last night hopefully we will meet next time. Weaver was as usual amazing.
There was a Pest in the house and nobody knew it. Hopefully next time you might open your eyes and come over and introduce yourself.
