hey guys,

my roommate i looking for a job in either a bar, restaurant or nightclub. she wants to be a hostess or a server...or anything really.

we live in toronto, so something in the city would be preferable.

anyway, are any of your places of business looking for new staff?

does anyone else know of ANY bars/restaurants/hotels that are looking for new employees?

if so, it would be a huge help to her! thanks.

A friend of mine owns Hot House Cafe (35 Church / Church and Front) mentioned a while ago that they were looking for some servers. I don't know if they still are but it would be worth checking out.

Yup I'm a regular there on Sundays, it is so super good. I still remember the old days when it was a crummy Pat and Mario's. Then they jacked up the licensing fees on him and he told them to shove it. He has been doing a lot better since he went out on his own and not hinding behind the franchise.

Is your friend good-looking cause if she is she might consider a job as a shooter girl. It's good money if she is willing to put up with the harrassment and the lack of security in pay (you work off commission and tips alone so how much you make depends on how much you sell). I work at Guv as a shooter boy and most girls there make decent cash and my manager also manages the girls at Limelight, IT, 108, and the freezie girls at System.

I love the Hot House!

We go there for all our department lunches. They have the bestest Creamy Tomato in the whole world...not kidding. Have you tried it?

Had the soup many a time, very very good. The best is the stuff they cook up at their house before it makes its way to the restaurant menu

I used to work for the architecture firm that designed Hot House...!

I havent read the rest of the thread so I dont know if your friend found a job yet or now- but anyway, I think you live kind of in this area, so tell your friend to come work at the Pickle Barrel with me!!! It's great money, and they hired me without experience so they may do the same for her!!!!

Which one did you work at? Two of my friends used to work at the Young/Dundas one I wonder if you knew them.

when i lived in toronto i wanted to work at the pickel barrel... (when i thought i was staying)

but i moved away before i got my resume in.
although my friend had a job there- and he told me they were hurting for people at the time-- and to for sure get my resume in asap.

oh well?!

maybe i'll apply there when i move back
