At The End of The Day........

.......you're another day older
And that's all you can say for the life of the poor
It's a struggle, it's a war
And there's nothing that anyone's giving
One more day standing about, what is it for?
One day less to be living.

Master of the house
Quick to catch yer eye
Never wants a passerby
To pass him by
Servant to the poor
Butler to the great
Comforter, philosopher,
And lifelong mate!
Everybody's boon companion
Gives 'em everything he's got

Stars
In your multitudes
Scarce to be counted
Filling the darkness
With order and light
You are the sentinels
Silent and sure
Keeping watch in the night
Keeping watch in the night

There is a castle on a cloud....
I like to go there in my sleep.
Aren't any floors for me to sweep.
Not in my Castle on a Cloud...

If boon means ass. NO!!!

I can't get Les Mis out of my head..........

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light

i love les miserables

i saw Les Miserables 5 times. It's my favorite musical by far.

Before my *smoking* days, I thought I could sing, and sang Eponine's song at my high school talent show.

on my own, pretending he's beside me
all alone, i walk with him til morning
without him, i feel his arms around me
and when i lose my way i close my eyes .. and he's found me

One of my friends sang *Bring Him Home* at a friend's (who committed suicide) funeral. Gives me goosebumps every time i hear it.

that's not how the song went in my head.

isn't it --

do you hear the people sing, singing the songs of angry men...
it is the music of the people who will not be slaves again
when the beating of our hearts echo the beating of the drums
there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!!

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light.

For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
And the sun will rise.

They will live again in freedom
In the garden of the Lord.
They will walk behind the plough-share,
They will put away the sword.
The chain will be broken
And all men will have their reward.

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes...
Tomorrow comes!

Curtains fall.

i don't believe you. that's not what it says in my soundtrack. :p

actually, that's the finale -- but the lyrics i wrote were from the end of act 1, before the war.

one more song before i go lunch...

drink with me.... to days gone by
sing with me....the songs we knew
here's to pretty girls who went to our heads
here's to witty girls who went to our beds
here's to them..... and here's to you

Lovely ladies
Waiting for a bite
Waiting for the customers
Who only come at night
Lovely ladies
Ready for the call
Standing up or lying down
Or any way at all
