Armageddon?

I have this thing for armageddon scenes. They make me really hot and bothered. Sometimes, it feels like the same feeling as sitting on a couch with someone you're hot for and they put their hand on your thigh..

Anyway, I just watched Armageddon for the first time and it sucked. This made loads of cash and I didn't know that Billy Bob, Wilson and Buscemi were in it.

WTF!

Did anyone actually like this million-dollar piece of garbage?

Oh, and can anyone recommend other movies about the end of the world?

I've seen:
Last Night
parts of Deep Impact
the one with Jesus in it.

This is probably why you get all hot and bothered.

A really powerful scene at the end of that movie. I loved it.

awesome movie. Only because it was super low-budget and was filmed in Toronto, with a pretty good cast to boot!

I never realized that Sandra's husband was the Gas Company guy (until i read a review of the movie)

usually when a movie prides itself on being a million dollar blow up movie it ceases to be considered anything other than garbage...I wish people would think more when they spend their hard earned money on rentals or movie going...of course this excludes LOTR simply for the literary merit it provides(and it's beautiful to watch which is really contradictory to what i just said)but it's the only exception these days...this has all been said to death but I take movies seriously sometimes and we should be thinking more about what we watch

The Day After

Was "The Day After" the made-for-tv-movie from years and years back about the nuclear holocaust??? If it's what you mean...holy crap i liked that movie even tho i hate tv movies. The images of fallout were explicitly disturbing considering it was on the telly. It was so profound to me that i still remember it to this day considering i only saw it that one time...
where can i find it???

Yep and Threads is the British equivalent, and about twice as unpleasant.

I think it's available on video, but you're going to have to dig for it. I've seen it a couple of times of digital cable surprisingly enough, but it's a hard find on video for sure.

hey, "the rock" is one of my fave films!

wasn't there a movie in the early 80s where everybody is dead because of a virus?

outbreak hinted at it...

made for tv, but: "the stand".

There was also a live action film version as well, made in North America

Had Eric Roberts and Chris Penn in it I think.
