CKLN & CHRY proudly present
QUANNUM WORLD TOUR 2004
Featuring: DJ Shadow, Blackalicious, Latyrx, Lyrics Born,
Lateef and The Chief, Lifesavas, Joyo Velarde, DJ D-Sharp
R.E.M.G. is proud to present the Quannum World Tour on Monday April 12, 2004.
In 1992, a small group of friends came together on a University of California radio show and all-night living-room freestyle sessions. These radio shows and freestyle sessions eventually developed into Quannum Projects, headed by one Josh Davis, otherwise known as DJ Shadow, but also those of his friends, Blackalicious (Gift of Gab & Chief Xcel) and Latyrx (Lyrics Born and Lateef The Truth Speaker). DJ Shadow is widely credited as a key figure in the development of the experimental, instrumental, combining, rock, hip-hop, ambient, jazz and soul hip-hop style associated with the London-based Mo'Wax label.
Blackalicious have made their name in hip-hop with their experimental, alternative sound. Their lyrics have a righteous and spiritual theme, rather than violent or misogynous. Sophisticated rhymes with a definite message and rich arrangements, make Blackalicious leaders in progressive hip-hop. DJ Shadow is expected to release a yet untitled album this year, as well as his Product Placement on Tour Live DVD. Gift of Gab will be releasing his debut solo album, Fourth Dimensional Rocketships Going Up this spring. Lyrics Born and Lifesavas are still on the heels of their critically acclaimed albums, Later That Day and Spirit in Stone respectively, both released last year.
Don't miss your chance to catch all of the members of the Quannum collective in one night on their Quannum World Tour 2004.
