Anyone using a seedbox for torrents?

How could I have missed this? Well worth the couple buck a month for sure.

My ISP does not throttle , but the low upload speeds is not good for keeping a good ratio on the private trackers.

So who do you use?

The only advantage to torrents over newsgroups is the selection of older movies/files. Now that most newsgroup providers offer 200+ days of retention (ngroups.net is moving to 400 days and I'm sure all them will eventually) for under $15/month unlimited its a pretty good option. And easy.

Using Giganews here and I have 365 days of retention. I can tell you right now though, that the ONLY place to locate a lot of the music I listen to is from enthusiasts on specialty torrent sites, especially if you're looking for flac. Fortunately with my internet package I get about 1 Mbps and I'm not experiencing a great deal of throttling so I have no reason to use a seedbox... but I can understand if you have no ISP alternatives, are heavily throttled, why you might need one.

I have been using giganews w/ newzbin for ages.. the content is great, but some stuff you just can't find. I have dropped my usenet access for a couple of months and dived into about 3 good private trackers and I am having no problems finding what I need.

Hmm, that might have been part of your problem, unless you were doing raw usenet searches too. Newzbin is a collection of submissions by users and moderators, so you're searching through user provided data, not everything on usenet.

I also use the raw search :)
