I totally understand what you're saying. Not that people who haven't taken poli-sci don't necessarily know what they're talking about, just that basically politics is about answering questions that people have not been able to agree upon for hundreds of years, not studying full time makes it even harder to pull out the good stuff and progress ideas forward. Hell I can't even begin to comprehend how little i know about politics. I'm sure you notice many fallacies in arguments and other misconceptions after having studied pols.

Ha ha ha, see you just have to go at it as a recreational excercise. If you want to enlighten the masses, start a website or film a documentary, or start giving lectures or something. Don't come on here and preach to a bunch of club casualties.

I did my undergrad in political science at Wilfrid Laurier University and then went up the street to the University of Waterloo for my Master's degree. Go team poli sci...

I think that, like, all the countries of the world should, like, just RAVE man, like, just for one night, you know? I think that if they all just felt the vibe man, it would, like, put things into perspective, you know?

I had the same problem with Laurier administration. The strike last year made me dislike them even more. They ask why they should do anything for the students as opposed to asking what else they could do! Saying "It's your job thats why" is becoming very tiring for me now.

My friend just switched into Poli-sci from Life-sciences this year and we got into an argument about job prospects, so in light of sounding really stupid (I'm just a science kid here), what type of jobs do most polisci majors go into? government, public or private sectors, congressional research, media analysts etc., or do most people just naturally follow the legal route?

I am heading the legal or government route :) But with Paul Martin PM, I'm now leaning heavily toward the former. Heck I might even stay in academia.

I'm graduating this summer from UVIC, a school I used to hate but now strangely enjoy. All my classes have been great and most of the hippies have been replaced with clean folk.

I thought I wanted to be a lawyer after I finished my Poli Sci degree and quickly realized that's not the route I want to head in. I know work in marketing for a health company.

How did you get into marketing from political science? My roomie was a BDR for Bell but is coming back to school to get his degree. He wants to go into marketing, but is considering a BCom.
