I don't normally post to the general section of the Tribe board, but I'm at a loss and I know there's a high concentration of Rogers users here.
Right now, I'd like to throw darts at Rogers 'high speed' employees.
Every once and a while, my account goes 'dead' for 3 days or so and I'm unable to retrieve any of my email during that time. I get an error stating 'username and/or password unrecognised'.
This is rather counter-productive with the concept of maintaining an email account since I use it for business on a daily basis and often receive large attachments as a result (so web-based email isn't an option).
I'm using Eudora 5.1 (I refuse to use Outlook due to the number of viruses coded for it, so that won't be a solution for me).
I never had any serious problems like this with @home when my accounts were on their servers.
What the fuck is up?! Does this happen to anyone else out there? Anyone got any ideas as to how the hell I can prevent this from happening?
I've checked my POP and SMTP server settings and they're all fine according to the www.rogershelp.com website.
I'm not a complete computer idiot, so I'm kind of pissed off that nothing seems to work. I've tried tweaking the POP and SMTP servers to no luck and it still ends up happnening at least 3 times a month!
Suggestions (because my next solution may be changing to Sympatico and firebombing Rogers headquarters)?
Cheers,
Jay K.
