Anybody been to Temple Bar?

Hey all.

I'm going to a place called Temple Bar (King and Spadina?) on Friday and I can't find any info about the place ANYWHERE. I'm wondering if anyone here could give a quick review.

I'm wondering about music, dress code, cover, dance floor, sound system etc - the works...guest list if possible.

Please tell me it doesn't suck....

Thanks for the help..

I've been to the original Tempal Bar district in Dublin Ireland but that doesn't really help. Sorry, I don't know about this one.

I am very familiar with the temple bar!

It is a nice place with very cool decor. The sound sytem was set up wrong so it might sound a little weird to you in there.

One thing though drinks are fuckin expensive!!!

Domestic beer is 7:00 the last time I was there. So make sure you do some pre-drinking or be prepared to empty out your wallet.

Its a fairly nice space... pretty open.
So expensive though... $5 for a bottle of water??
When i was there the music was extremely disappointing - and the sound wasn't great - but that was a party so it wasn't "temple" putting it on.
There was no dress code I don't think...
The dancefloor is upstairs and then there is this loungy area kind of below...

I'd give it a 6/10 :)

$7 for DOMESTIC? That's nuts....

What's the crowd like? Are we talking soothers and fun fur, or are we talking gino's and juice-heads? Or, preferrably somewhere in between?

I would say no soothers because I would never step foot in a club that has anyone like that in it. But it also is not gino's either. It is somewhat mid tweenties nice dressed but casual.

Cool - all I need to know is that I'm going to get in wearing nice sneakers, a pair of khakis and a button down short sleeved shirt...

I'm assuming it's typically house on a Friday?

I've been here a couple of times. One of those times was for a clonk event. Before we arrived the owner or possibly the manager had threatened to "kick the shit" out of one of the DJ's (ether mann aka gsnuff) for playing music he didn't like. This guy is a large, menacing, kojack looking mofo and I wouldn't want to tangle with him. Greg had to stop playing to save himself from being injured.

The crowd was a little older (28-35), the drinks were expensive, and everyone seemed a little pretentious. It's a nice space, but the managment needs a good swift kick in tha ass

The only good solid night there is Mondays for Chicks Dig It. They lower the drink prices and there are wicked back to back female dj's all night.
