any good bare bones audio recording software

I am looking for a basic audio recorder software for PC and also for MAC

Anything with a quick learning curve? With not too many bells and whistles.

any idears?

well i find cooledit really easy, though its fully professional should you ever require it.

Cool Edit Pro!

My favorite for a PC if you need something real easy to use, yet packed with great stuff...

I use Cool Eidt Pro 2.0 or 2.1...can't remember right now ( I'm at work)...real easy to edit on as well as recording!
