K so when i import a cd and it is a continues dj mx cd but the trax are all numberd it all gets broken up when i drag and drop it on to my ipod - so if i have other songs on the ipod that are say named track 01 or 05 it will just lump it with them.

Is there a way that i can somehow get the cd to transfer all as one file?

Thanks

Are you using iTunes?

If so, there's an Import as one file / merge all files function.

You can also import that CD into a playlist and then dump the playlist in your iPod. When you import, you can get it to attach track numbers to the song so that you don't lose the order.

IF your using iTunes, highlight ALL the tracks from the cd.
(hold the shift button to highlight the tracks)
then go to the advanced tab and select "JOIN CD TRACKS"
done.

if you have a mac and don't mind ripping to aac format, use iTunesJoin. you can add chapter marks (using Apple's ChapterTool) where the tracks are so that you're not stuck with a large file w/o being able to fwd/rwd "track to track".

there maybe similar tools for windows. ilounge.com would be the place to do the research.
