i'm really happy with all the neat-o building projects in the city.
the ROM's looking good
i'm on the fence with the opera house but i'm hopefull
i think Ghery's talents were wasted on the AGO facelift. he should be given a project from scratch. hopefully something on the waterfront
the saphire condo/hotel is neat-o
and now libeskind again at the hummingbird centre

No thanks. At least it's not bad as the polka-dot box on crayon stilts. If anything, I'd go for more of that crystalline entity look!

crystaline entity look is to gaudy and try hard for toronto, its all about whether the actual building compliments the surrounding structures and vice versa

i agree completely, but why detract from the crystaline entity's magnificence by planting it amongst a shoddy series of wanktard rectangles

it's a great design, we need more like that. The repressed wasp look has run it's course in Toronto.

It's strange- every person with an architectural background that I've asked about OCAD has an opinion that ranges from 'I don't mind it' to 'I love it', where everyone else considers it to be a travesty.

Of course, it could be that the people w/ arch backgrounds are terrified of slighting the Mighty Will Alsop and fear serious karmic retribution.

I'm not a huge fan of this design, in fact, I'll come right out and say it... I hate the fucking thing.

I'm all for different designs because I feel that Toronto has a serious lack of inspired architecture, but this... it's just plain old ugly no matter how you look at it.

i originally really hated ocad but now i LOVE it. it makes me smile everytime i see it.

i'm liking the boot and i absolutely CAN'T WAIT for the rom to be finished!

i'm with you for the most part, but i fear falling ice sheets from the ROM in the winter!
