another goldwave question

How do you over lap 2 different recordings?
ie one recorded sound (say a synth) with another (say a vocal) which have been recorded seperatly.

is there a track viewer? i know in cool Edit you can view up to 16 tracks in which you can cut 'n paste various samples separately and merge, mix, repeat, etc each track.

I know how to cut and past. my problem is that it is pasting over top so that the original can't be heard anymore... its been pissing me off all night. I made a few attempts at really sweet recordings only to find out they got pasted over and turned out as crap! argh!
oh well, its almost time for school, better get off of the machines and on to the books.

with sound forge there is an overlay option, look for that option on your program....

Just in case you get fed up with gold wave: Emagic used to have a free version of Logic for use on the Rocket network. But it did all the things you apparently need. It's called Logic Rocket.
